Am I pathologic for needing a partner?

I’m a "force multiplier" who knows for a fact I function better with a "partner in crime" than alone. To me, life is a team sport; I’m more productive and comfortable fighting the world as a duo. Why is this pathologized as "codependency" or low self-esteem? If I prefer strategic synergy and a shared lifestyle over hyper-independence, why must it be a "psychological issue" rather than a valid personal preference? The current shit society WORSHIPS hyper independence (you can see it in how career women get applauded for not having kids and such). I am also not desperate, such a theorethical "partner in crime" must follow a set of criteria, it can´t be anybody.

Actually I am not asking, I am simply tired of being called a codependent and so forth
