Did I make a mistake giving a stalker-type guy a chance?

I need some perspective because my head is spinning. There’s this guy who was pursuing me for a while, and honestly? It was bad. I told him I wasn't interested, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. He was aggressive, persistent, and it felt borderline abusive/stalkerish at the time. He basically forced the door open when I tried to keep it shut.

The Current Situation: I eventually gave in and gave him a chance (I know, I know...). But here’s the thing: now that he’s "in," he’s actually behaving. He’s been treating me incredibly well - kind, attentive, and respectful. It’s like he’s a completely different person than the one who was harassing me a few months ago.

Is it possible he was just "clumsy" or went into overdrive because he liked me so much?
Or is this "nice guy" act just a mask now that he has what he wants, and the scary version will come back the moment I disagree with him?
