1.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Loving myself didn't come into my life with whistles, glitter and balloons, but I do love myself and it came a little bit at a time.
But falling in a love relationship with a man, that does come into my life with all of the above mention things plus butterflies. 🦋 ❤️11 Reply

1 moNo debate it's myself... I love myself and I am with me for life... before a partnered love relationship and after a partnered love relationship.

My aim on GAG is to decode all this messy love stuff so you don’t have to lose your mind over it 😏
Falling in love with yourself is more powerful. When you truly value yourself, you stop tolerating red flags, lovebombing, and breadcrumbing. Then, when you fall in love with someone else, it’s healthy, balanced, not desperate. Self-love makes romantic love sweeter, not your whole identity.02 Reply- 1 mo
@Evil_Mouse_Trap I enjoyed your response haven't seen it put in such a textbook definition. Though I will say I can see plenty of examples of those who can love others but are incapable of self care. I feel there aren't any binaries in love, and that there are as many definitions as there are things to give it.

@Evil_Mouse_Trap I think thats a beautiful ideal. With how fast paced and instant grafication the dating world is realstically whose got time for that? too many choices ultimately leads to heuristicy.
How often do you hear "they weren't like I thought" "Or I had no idea they'd turn out like that" "You just can't tell what people are really like". So I doubt anyone would recognize a unique ID like that. Parental love is like that. From this being a topic in relationships I had thought of from a dating perspective. Which tends to place a huge amount of value on physical form.

We are very special people we have been lied to on who we truly are I don't know if you believe in God but God is in you he says he wants you to be him do as he does create love give and when you understand this and you become it it changes everything about you it is the most powerful thing and once you have that then you can have any love you want but only if it's true and real
We are nothing but pure energy spiritual energy in spiritual energy is love the highest peak of it would you understand that when you can feel that it will change your world I'm serious10 Reply
1 moSomeone else but it’s important to love yourself as well. I don’t mean in a narcissistic way….. the worst humans are people who deeply hate themselves in my experience there is excessive self love as well but. The Bible says love your neighbor as yourself. Not hate your neighbor as yourself

1 moYourself, I dont think we have any love to be able to give anyone else if we dont love ourselves first. Worth and Confidence comes from loving ourselves. Confidence makes people attractive. When you dont love yourself first, loving someone else is like loving a flower. Its only there as long as the flower. Without the anchor of selfishness, love fades with the flower.

m 1 mo"in love with myself" would sound way too pretentious coming from me... lol
I am... the love, for the ones in my life
yeah, that sounds more like me... and that's some powerful shit right there too, lmao22 Reply- 1 mo
Lol indeed it does
- 1 mo
but yeah, definitely... loving and valuing oneself
the most liberating thing ever as well
I think both matter in different ways, but loving yourself is probably the foundation of everything else.
Because when you don’t value or understand yourself, it’s easy to lose yourself completely in another person, even in unhealthy ways.
But at the same time, falling in love with someone can also teach you parts of yourself you never noticed before.
So for me, loving yourself makes love healthier, while loving someone else can make life feel deeper and more meaningful.10 Reply
1 moFalling in love with yourself sounds like narcissism, honestly.
It's great to have healthy self-esteem, but if you spend a lot of time thinking about how wonderful and special you are, that's probably a sign of some pretty serious psychological issues.

1 moDefinitely someone else.. We already love ourselves from birth.. There's nothing better than becoming selfless and starting to make life about someone other than yourself.. We live for other people after all..

1 moSomeone else and then hopefully the feeling is mutual and that makes me feel better about myself. It's hard to be too high on myself on my own without someone else giving me the confidence to.
