Your twenties can be a funny time. You bob around like a lost cork in a rough sea, amid waves of work experiences, new friendships and financial uncertainty. Your brain continues to grow. At the time it feels fine. But afterwards, you look back and think, “how did I cope with all that?”
At a younger age, every break-up has the power to punch you in the gut and leave you stranded. You think the world has ended. The pain doesn't get weaker when you’re 30 or 40, but you do become more familiar with it. It can knock you out seriously, but you know it will eventually go away. You’ll be able to evaluate the lessons you learnt, while seeing the positive side of it all.
Sorry for those of you who just turned 20 or are about to. But life teaches us lessons all along the way. We're not the same person at 30 or 40. Maybe a different version of ourselves.
