It seems many people don't let others go, toxic people included, in hopes that the person will eventually end up as the version they picture them or hope they will be.

Yes, I think people do this a lot. Sometimes we aren't holding onto the person they actually are. We're holding onto the version of them we believe they could become.
I've done this emotionally before, and honestly, it's exhausting. You keep making excuses, waiting for that better version to appear, while ignoring who the person is right now.
People can change, but they have to want that change themselves. You can't love someone into becoming the person you wish they were. Sometimes letting go is accepting reality instead of holding onto potential. ❤️
Nope - I let um go! Like I've said before, I don't leave scratch marks trying to keep them. There's the door!🚪
Of course this is a learned behavior.
I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't have a lot of relationship experience to realize that for a long time, but hopefully and eventually they finally realize the hard cold truth and let go!
No. You know what... you can’t turn shit into sugar. I’d rather walk away than fool myself into believing he will change
No. I accept people like they are even toxic a-holes, however it doesn't mean I will threat them all the same, just because I accept them. Still a nasty person will get a nasty treatment.
We don't talk about the girls in the basement.
What? It's a joke, people!
And how does that work out for them?
