I love eating raw bacon and my boyfriend wants me to stop doing it. What should I do?

Hey people, I'd really appreciate your help about something. My boyfriend doesn't allow me to eat raw bacon. I love the taste of bacon and I love eating it raw, but he says I shouldn't eat it raw. I've never forbidden him anything. He eats his stupid raw eggs with his stupid raw pork meatballs and I NEVER make him feel bad about it. What should I do?How can I make him understand that he is not being nice and that he has no right to tell me what I should or shouldn't eat? by the way I don't want to dump my boyfriend, so please don't advice me to do that. I just want to make him understand that what he's doing is not right and it hurts me a lot... So what should I do?

I would strongly advise against eating raw pork products. It's not healthy. There is a parasite that you can catch called Trichinosis, which is a kind of tapeworm that will live inside your intestines and eventually spread to your muscles and other organs. link

If you like raw meats, the other alternatives are steak tartare, which is 100% raw steak usually served with a raw egg on it. Another one is sushi or sashimi (just the raw fish, no rice or seaweed wrap), and also blue steak which is just steak that's been quickly seared.

Uncooked meat is not good for you. You never know if an animal has a parasite or anything else. Then it could get into your body. If you have ever seen a show called 'monsters inside me' it is about real cases of parasites in real people. Its pretty nasty what happens to these people and most of the cases are related to eating under cooked or raw meat products . your boyfriend is definitely right to be worried and wanting you to stop. How did you start eating raw bacon anyways? Do you eat anything else raw?

I can't remember but I don't think it was sushi. Tapeworm larvae aren't generally found inside raw fish, so I'm assuming this woman got them from pork or maybe game meat. To have them in her lungs though is so gross, and means that she had been eating that bad food for years probably.
