New hot guy just came into the school a week ago and he already has a gf? Wtf? All of the hot guys in my school are taken

I ask because I'm still confused by the term. If a relationship is casual for a long time... is it still a fling--or is it a "long term understood arrangement"? I've also seen a fling as something only a few months; like you meet a person on vacation and you hang out/fuck while you're there... then you break up before you leave? Or someone you meet in college--but you live in different states, so you have to end it before you graduate?

Can you tell me what you think it means? TIME vs STATUS of RELATIONSHIP?

Is the term "fling" more about time spent (very short time) OR how serious the situation was? For example... could you still call it a fling if you were together for over a year but never became straight up exclusive or planned on marriage/getting engaged? Most people get married after being together for a few years, so if you're together for that amount of time but aren't even engaged yet or feel like you want it to be really serious--is it a fling? Girl 1
She wears lululemon yoga pants, tank tops, t shirts with her favorite singers or tv shows, and cute skinny jeans. She’s not very sporty, but wears tennis shoes because they’re comfy and her hair is tied up in a messy bun or ponytail. She loves instagramming and staying up late in a cozy bed watching her favorite Netflix shows and eating (who doesn’t love eating?) She is well rounded, smart but not nerdy, and does dancing. She is very very shy and has only two riends, because it takes a while to gain her trust, however, once you do, she is caring and always there for you to cheer you up. She stays with you and talks about whatever you want without ever judging you. She is very sweet and helpful and can be talkative when you are alone, and she loves cuddling, however, in public she is very shy and and can act cold nd shuns away from you. As you know her better you discover she loves studying history and can babble about it endlessly with a passion, and an extremely talented pianist. She loves writing and writes about romance and adventure, but she is a bit too shy to let you read them and you’re curious.

Girl 3
She wears yoga pants, tennis shoes, and tight athletic shirts. She’s always up for action and loves Traveling with you. She’ll tell you anything you need to know and is determined and focused, and to the point. She loves the outdoors and the unknown and is articulate and confident and strong. She prefers an action-filled lifestyle and is a strong feminist. She works hard and is trustworthy and indepedent and loyal.

Jeeez I hear about teen guys cheating all the time, I know many teen girls cheat too but they usually don’t get caught. I don't know wats going on lol

Here are my standards for a boyfriend:
-Must be between 5’9 and 6’2
-Must be very attractive facially (even facial symmetry)
-Must be smart
-Must have his own goals
-Must be around my age (I’m 19 so 19-25 works best for me)
-Must be respective of other’s cultures
-Must have nice white teeth that are well placed
-Preferibly, but doesn’t have to be, someone outside my race
-Must have common decency and manners
-Must be fit (preferably a guy who likes to workout)

in exchange for that, I work to improve myself every day. Is it bad to have high standards?
