Me and my fiance are having problems right now.. Unfortunately she moved back in with her parents.

Her family is kind of controlling and i feel as though they are using God to manipulate people. Her dad has rebuked me several times proclaiming that God told him to do it. It almost seems boastful and arrogant.. They like telling people to do things using Gods name.

Depends on what you mean and trust am far from christian am trans and practice witchcraft, that being said are they menataly ill? firast question the awser is yes, every christan will use God to explain the bad (its the devil) or good (it is god) i am assuming they do this because their religion keeps them child like "i am only a child in the eyes of the lord".
If you believe in a one god then great but using it to explain delusion (voices, seeing things that aren't there) is very common in delusion, however on the other hand you have people how are manipulative and will use God to explain why your not special and they are, as a witch am of the opinion that nothing that is a God wants to hurt you unless they are a darker one. In terms of your fiances parents are using God to make her not want to marry you and am guessing hey are only doing it to scare her, as she may have been brain washed by them thus if the marriage goes through (i hope it does) then they will cut her off because that would be the last attempt of control. Control abuse is very common amongst Christians.

It's people's way of saying that if something fails, then it wasn't their fault since somebody else told them to do so. That way, if something bad occurred, they will use the 'but I was doing what God wanted me to do'. I obeyed you, God.

However, if something great occurred, they will want to rob God of the glory and claim they did it on their own. Got to be wondering of these people. Sure, there are times when God speaks but to claim He always does and you know all the time when He does, is not feasible.

Many Christians say that God guided them to do this or that, and I see at as almost as bad as saying that God told them so. For the vast majority, it's undoubtedly their emotions instead. As a fellow Christian I wish this problem would be fixed. However, incidents of a Christian claiming that God told them to do criminal activity are extremely rare.
