Why Jesus said many people hate Christians

Jesus said if the world hates you it’s because it hates him first.

And you do not belong to the world but were chosen out of the world by God.

And this is why the world hates you.

One guy hated me because I told him I got high grades so I thought he was jealous of my intelligence, but later he was very nice to a girl far more successful than me.

Another guy told me he was angry at me for living with rich parents but later I learned his best friend had many times more money than what I had.

Another girl hated me because she thought I was an evil person but she claimed to love God and God’s people.

Another guy hated me for being weak but later he entertained a guy who was weaker than me.

And a guy hated me for having problems while his best friend had far more problems than me.

My dad hates me for being different in opinion than him but my mom is different in opinion from him and extremely abusive and he does not hate her.

The fact is my haters do not hate me for any of the reasons I listed. It’s not my intelligence or my non conformity or my wealth or my privilege or my troubles or any of the reasons they claim to hate me or think they hate me.

The real reason they hate me - a reason they themselves are not even aware of - is that I’m a child of God.

They can’t explain why they hate me so they try to justify their hatred towards me with lies and false beliefs that they themselves tell their minds are reasons they hate me.

The real reason they hate me - the only reason they hate me - is that I believe in God and believe God loves me. They do not believe I have a right to believe or proclaim to believe those things.

i dont hate the Christians of now, but the history of Christianity is full of Genocide, Murder, Rape, Slavery.. They burned witches by the millions, They had the Spanish inquisition.. So as a whole i have zero respect for any religion. Including Christianity

Look up your own religion's history, If we were to judge Christianity based on that, it would be executed. I dont believe the Christians of now are like that, and because of that when religion comes up i just dont talk about it, but the older generations still have that "I am better than you and you're going to hell" attitude when someone admits that they are not christian.

And bottom line, i simply will not take anything on faith. Faith is for those that choose to be delusional not for rational thinking people.

A thing is what it is, it is itself. There can be no contradictions.

Faith is a device of self-delusion, a sleight of hand done with words and emotions founded on any irrational notion that can be dreamed up. Faith is the attempt to coerce truth to surrender to whim. In simple terms, it is trying to breathe life into a lie by trying to outshine reality with the beauty of wishes. Faith is the refuge of fools, the ignorant, and the deluded, not of thinking, rational men.

I don't think all those people really hate you. You can't hate who you don't know. Listen I must admit that I'm not very religious. I don't identify as Christian. I do believe we are all a product of nature and to display hate towards a person is a desplay of hatred towards nature. That is what this statement means to me. I love all living creatures that is the way to be. It's fine if you identify as Christian and love your faith but I'd encourage you to listen to other types of religion it may fill in some blanks or widen your perspective to better understand your own faith in the context of others.

Yep. I was hated for being skinny, hated for being fit, hated for being unattractive, hated for being pretty, hated for being bad at tennis, hated for being good at soccer, hated for bad grades in middle school, hated for getting good grades in hs... it just never ends. And you're right, people will try to justify their dislike of you by blaming different things, but it's all bs. They just hate people who love God and are trying to do good things.

He didn't say it would happen for no reason. People have been arrested, persecuted and imprisoned for worship, already. Coronavirus they say. Well that's just the excuse, the reality is people are being persecuted by the state and media for worship. The excuse is irrelevant. Look how religion is persecuted in the media these days. Yes, one of several references that people would be in scorn, rejection and hate of the Children of God. Kind of a "guilt by association" sort of feeling from the gen pop that Jesus warned would be put up in our faces.

I have a brother-in-law (whom I've mentioned before) who refuses to even talk unless we agree 101% and accept as fact all of his (very unChristian views and opinions) which he- somehow- thinks ARE Christian. Then, he breaks his own rule to venomously vent about leaders, etc., with whom he disagrees. But, my wife quit rising to the bait he keeps casting.

Because that's a trick every good cult leader or aspiring dictator has used since the beginning of time. It's great for a couple reasons:

1- Creates an us vs them mentality.
2- Everyone likes to think of themselves or their group as the underdog. Even more effective when you follow a leader that has an underdog/martyr story themselves (they almost always do).
3- Protects your ego and mindset when your behavior is unbecoming. You can always ignore criticism, stubbornly double down and rationalize "Hey I'm not doing anything wrong, haters gonna hate".
4- There's also nice little confirmation bias in there: The more they hate me, the more it proves my BS about being the chosen one is true, isn't that convenient?

I do believe in supernatural persecution in which we are fighting with the unseen that tries to mess us up, however, the disciples already experienced this and it's not just hatred for their cause but hatred for their briefs. To forgive people that should not be given is one small example of which I'm sure christians experience that to some extent today

The Roman world hated Christians because your values and the values of the Roman state did not align. Namely, your stubborn refusal to please their Gods and pacifist teachings.. to a Roman mind.. threatened the security of the empire by uprooting its moral integrity.

He was Jewish and his followers were Jewish. after his death start a discussion about to whom spread his message and if adding or not not Jewish, the rest is history. but you please undertand... the first followers of Christ were not Christians and mever thought themself like that.
