Why I believe some people choose to hate - Bible talk

I think the reason many people choose to hate others is that they want to feel superior to them too boost their own broken and disheveled ego and somehow hating and vilifying others, mentally affirms your comparative quality over the person you hate. I remember I once asked why people make fun of ugly people and a guy responded that “Everybody needs a dog to kick around. You will never find a very good looking person insulting an unattractive person, it’s always somebody who is average (who feels mocking others elevates their self confidence by making them think people are beneath them).” But I’m the end, enraging God’s kindness with cruelty to human beings is not worth the ego boost somebody might have for mocking somebody worse off than themselves.

Nice my take. I don't hate on any religeous person who isn't judgmental and condescending. I've met the real fire and brimstone types who believe anyone who doesn't believe what they believe is going to hell. I've also met Christians who are kind, generous, and do goid works. Those are the peopke I believe are living in the Spirit of Jesus.

I genuinely do not believe in God, but I try to be a moral person for it's own sake rather than the promise of heaven or the threat of hell.

There is a question posed by a Rabbi (in the Talmud, I think) Who is a better man, he who believes in God but does not follow God's law or he who follows God's law but does not believe?

We all think love is the most powerful word in the world. But there is something greater then love we were given the gift a choice. Every little thing that we do every decision we make every breath we take every word we speak. Is a choice. We choose who we want to be but things we say and do that is powerful that is more powerful than anyting we can love individually we can give love we can receive love but we have to choose to accept love it's her choice to give love choice is a very powerful thing. I think somewhere in somebody's life something happens they choose to be people they choose to be spiteful they choose to cause chaos and friction you chose to ask this question you chose to be positive role model in everybody's life I chose to answer this question because I believe in choice I believe it is the greatest gift we were given and what we do with it is who we become

I don't hate spiritual beliefs in general because it all exists.
What I do hate about modern religion though is the thefts and discrediting off others, the unnecessary violence and rapists.
I get that it's for good and bad, but it isn't completely one way or the other way, there are several major differences.
Our current religions are from kingdoms pushed onto us by kings back in the history.
I am secular, I have spiritual beliefs too but I don't try to force them on anyone else, you are free to have whatever sane or insane spiritual beliefs you want to, just let others to have theirs or none, walk away and don't even care to pray for that individual.
Im done with all the lies and narrow narratives that are pushed onto everyone.

based on the above then, the correct action for Christians is to accept, even love homosexuality and transexuals, rather than the usual hate.

I do not encourage homosexuality or transsexuals but I do not hate them. Everybody deserves love and respect unless they are abusive or violent.

Well what is the largest portion of society against homosexuality etc, hmmm yep that will be various religious types and organisations.

It’s good that you are against abusive organisations such as the church when they denounce and shame homosexuality, when they spread hate and fear.

I think of the church as an art class, we have objectives and goals we want to achieve and things we try to avoid but we are here to refine our moral skills and not to mock or exclude the artistic creation of others.

@Nikolai2004 erm I was generalising - 30 years war, Spanish Inquisition, Succession wars, etc, you name it religious people hate everyone, I would put money on someone being religious being more vociferous than a person that really does not care.

Also ref Ireland, it’s actually Irish Catholic and Irish Protestants, as someone from mainland I don’t give a shit.

I am referring to religious ideas and scriptures and not people who claim to be religious. The bible says man was created in the image of God meaning all human life is valuable until it denies the value of other people’s lives. A lot of people say they are religious but still practice racism or xenophobic hatred but the bible says that most of the people who claim to be religious are deceiving themselves and do not follow their religion the way they should.

It has always struck me as odd, that if I repent, and let jesus into my life I can go to heaven when I die, but if i don't i go to hell. But then my version of hell is having to spend the rest of time with born again Christians.
