What the bible says about hate

In the bible Jesus says after talking about adultery

"If your right eye causes you to sin gouge it out and throw it away"

"If your right hand causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away"

Being a self taught hermeneutic - I believe two things

1. Jesus meant more than just lust when he said it

2. The bible contains metaphors and symbols

The way I see it - the right eye represents vision - if your vision and understanding of virtue makes you hate - discard your vision or divorce it

If your right hand - or sense of justice - makes you hate - discard your sense of justice and divorce it

In the same way that men divorce abusive woman or woman divorce abusive men

So we must divorce ourselves from the habits and traits that make us aggressive and hateful towards others

For those who have been trained in hatred through abuse or aggression - this divorce might not come over night but you can set the cycle of redemption by willfully choosing not to fuel the hatred and cycle of mental hostility out there

In Isaiah in the New Revised Standard Version which to me is the only accurate version about this particular store

It talks about those who "walk in darkness and have no light yet trust in the name of the lord and rely upon his God - all you are kindlers of fire brands - walk in the fire you have kindled - this is what you shall receive from my hand - you shall lie down in torment."

to identify the context remember what Jesus said "If the light that is within you is darkness how great is that darkness."

To me what this means is - people build their moral religious philosophy ot anti-antis and negatives rather than building it on positives

I remember in high school i was criticizing Stockwell dave for an essay on politics and I told my friend "their entire identity revolves around who they hate."

God isn't interested in your superiority over others or ability to identify how flawed and bad they are

What God is interested in - is your positive qualities - I mean more than just joy when I say positive qualities - humility is a positive quality cause it makes you a functioning and helpful member of society who strives to improve yourself at every turn

When you trust in God - it must involve more than just peace and not worry - it must involve basing your life on love and basing your security on love rather than hatred - building your religious devotion on the idea of positive virtues and love for God which involves feelings of humility

And not negative traits like gossip or judgment or exclusion

If you observe the parable of Jesus on the 7 demons that return to the empty house in which one demon was cast out of

Some people hate others for their sins - not because they hate sin - but because they want an excuse to hate and hurt others without being morally condemned or judged for it

Like the serial killer who torturers rapists because he wants an excuse to continue killing without being hated for it

Sometimes righteous anger is mere hatred masking as holiness in those who refuse to acknowledge the hate that resides within out of a fear it will devalue their social status or sense of security in God
