Matt. 5 Verses 11 to 12 Says
[11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you
The way I understand this verse is two fold
1 - To trust God to compensate you when others step on your toes and to trust God to reward you when your good deeds are not counted towards you because no one knows about them. When you trust that God will reward you, you are able to forgive others because you know the happiness of your enemies will not rob you of your own personal happiness.
2 - To be so full of self affirming thoughts and view points that you don’t even notice or care when others reject your friendship or turn against you. To be too busy celebrating and singing praises to notice that you were not invited to the holiday party at your church or among your Christian friends.
