Why Character is the Non-Negotiable Condition

I know a guy who has spent years attempting to lie and scam his way to success but after a brain injury, his lies were no longer believable and he was totally unaware of how fake and corrupt he sounded or appeared to others when he talked. He had been trying for over a decade to innovate a business but his ideas were always foolish and ill planned and led to financial loss, sometimes forcing him out of his home in debt and into much smaller places to live.

Recently, he found a girlfriend who helped him come up with good ideas for once instead of the worthless blather he had been trying to sell before, but since he had alienated his previous connections with his lack of integrity, there were barely 2 people who were around long enough to witness his good idea.

Some people think they can become ethical after they’ve succeeded. Girls do this by selling out their bodies to guys thinking when they get married, they will no longer be compromising their morals and values for him. Some students thinking telling lies in university is okay if it leads to a job or promotion where they can finally be honest. And a lot of rookie employees engage in illegal business activities such as not properly washing their work area to save time, thinking they can be ethical after they succeed.

The fact is, character is the one stock you can never sell, because once you sell it, you don’t have enough assets to secure a loan on your life, since you are too low in appreciation to be worthy of it.

As the man in the example I just mentioned, his previous history of lying and exploitation robbed him of the amazing future, he was supposed to have, and now he has been forced out of his home due to debt, and I suspect his relationship will be at risk after he sells his house.

There's a lot of people out there who have become very successful because their good at lying and scamming. These people often outcompete their honest buisness rivals.
