The Two Worlds of Life - A Bible Analysis

I remember as a 19 year old, a short man tried to get respect by earning high amounts of money to make up for his ugly face and than kicked me out of his prayer group when I talked about my problems because I was asking him to pray for me without doing anything to win his respect first.

His friend would not let me join the prayer group either because he served God with the hope that God would make him rich and he did not believe I did deserved to have friends or respect or health and romance when I was not showing the same dedication to humanitarian causes that he did, because he served God very hard to become rich in return.

And a girl in that group yelled at me not to call her during work hours and hung up on me when I rung the number she gave me to ask her about a bible verse in the evening, not knowing she was at work. She later blocked me when I asked her for prayer in an email because she thought I did not deserve prayer when I was not working as hard as her to earn money and respect at a high paying job.

I only know a small number of people in that prayer group who were not snobs, one was a hard working genius who could have done any job she wanted, but chose to be a high school teacher because she loved children. She chose people over money, and unlike the other snobs who founded or managed the prayer group and treated me like trash, she treated me with respect and occasionally expressed an interest in being my friend when she had free time.

My point is, you cannot make income your ambition and be ethical. You cannot make morals your ambition and be obsessed with money, the bible says if you pursue God, God will make sure you have the material and social things you need to survive, but you have to make morality your goal and not the ability to eat caviar dinners and wear expensive ball gowns.

Money will corrupt you if you put money in front of God. Let God reward you and obligate you as He sees fit because God is your dress and tuxedo maker at the wedding of holy loving. He will tell you when it’s time to work and when it’s time to celebrate, you don’t have to create your own indulgence or plan your own life.

I don't know what country you're from but, knowing you're Christian from other posts of yours I've scrolled, this idea that God will reward prayers with riches is utter nonsense and against most Christian denominations who aren't televangelists like Jerry Falk. Those are not religious people, they are just greedy people instrumentalizing religion for their gain and ambitions. The way you were treated was unacceptable.

When in doubt remember that passage:
"A camel will thread through the hole of a needle before a rich man enters the kingdom of Heaven"...
