My religious take on why what goes around comes around

I believe what goes around comes around, and I will give you a few examples I know from my life.

A guy I used to know spent exam week in university volunteering at bible study instead of studying and he was a humanities major with no guarantee of a STEM job after graduating. I saw his resume 12 years later online and he was working as in corporate law.

I knew another girl who used to risk her life to visit homeless people in the most dangerous neighbourhoods in Philadelphia and New York to give food to homeless people and offer emotional support and this was a secret most people never knew about her because she did not want to get in trouble with the people who loved her and she became a Wall Street leader who managed 7 hedge fund traders at the age of 26. She was also an atheist who did not believe that God rewarded humanitarian love, she did it only because she cared about the homeless.

I know another guy who spent 7-11 hours a week socializing with social outcasts and he spent so much time with his Christian friends that he never had time to adorn his resume with relevant volunteer experiences for medical school and now he has a PhD from Yale and a medical degree from Stanford.

I know a girl who devoted her entire life to doing humanitarian work in Africa, her Facebook was plastered with photos of her hugging African children in her arms and her grandpa became a billionaire and her father a company CEO. I went to a birthday party at her cottage and her summer cottage was 20-30 times the size of my nice and comfortable home.

My point is, when you help others and do it out of love and not out of a desire for personal gain, God will make sure He gives you His feedback on what you did.

But the bible teaches not everyone is repaid on earth. Some are only repaid after they die.

But rest assured, they will be repaid.

I dont think you can equate hard work and using the grace of God as what goes around comes around. These people succeeded because they were intelligent and gifted from the beginning and worked hard to succeed. A person who is both intelligent and gifted but doesn't work hard and ends up working in subway well that's a case of reaping what you sow.

Why does he pick which one of us will be repaid in this life and which ones will be repaid after this life?
I think, that if we were all created in his image and if he really is all about forgiving, .. then wouldn't he have to be fair? Neutral in a sense?


Here's maybe a different POV to ponder on:
In the bible, there's constant reminder that jesus died for everyone's sins, and that he also forgave us of our sins. There's also a few times when you read about everyone being Gods children and that he lives everyone the same.
if we also keep in mind that Free Will is a thing which allows us to make our own decisions when we are faced with choices, then that also means that we have to deal with and accept the consequences that come with said choices.. right?
so what if it isn't religion that decides karma, as some people call it.
if God really does love everybody equally and he really did create everybody in his image then wouldn't he choose everybody to have the same things so that it doesn't look like he favors one child over another? or is it okay for him to play favorites because he's God?


what if it isn't some magical God that is handing out karma or repaying us when we die or even are still alive.. what if something that's not tangible even after death? everything is made of energy you me the wind guitar a microphone flower everything expect a dirt everything is made of atoms which are energy. and for every positive there has to be a negative in order for charged particles to have activity, so to say everything is energy also means the things that we do even when they're not physical when we think that's energy involved and that energy even if we don't direct it towards something or someone it has to go somewhere so it goes and it floats and every positive has to have a negative and vice versa so because we're not directing it towards something and it's just floating, when it does finally hit something then it gets shot back to us because we were the original producer of said energy.. hence what goes around comes around.

I think if you put in the hard work then you'll be successful. I know my Pastor has two sons and they grew up in church and went to college for engineering. They have good paying jobs and are blessed with their own house and one of them has 2 children and was recently blessed with 2 twin girls. I think God does bless people if they follow him while I notice that those that follow God are blessed as well.

Unfortunately I’m not sure I believe in karma/etc. So many great people end up in the worst situations while so many bad people end up fine.

Because you don't have eyes to see everything that is being sown. It's not just what you do that is being sown.
