Science is not guaranteed to come back the same after a thousand years. Albert Einstein was the most intelligent human who ever lived, and it took him 5 years to write Special Relativity and 10 more years to write General Relativity, and he still got it wrong with the Cosmological Constant, and he was also wrong regarding Quantum Entanglement.
Medical science was flat out wrong from the time of Jesus up to the time of Pasteur, "physicians" knew absolutely nothing correct about medicine except surgery, and if not for Davinci they wouldn't even have known that.
The Law of Moses is inspired and infallible, and God could just give the Law of Moses to somebody else if you burned all the books. Some Jews have the Torah memorized word for word, because at the time of Jesus Jews were required to memorize the first 5 books of the Bible word for word and be able to recite it on demand in order to hold an office of leadership. So a Jewish Rabbi could just re-write the Law of Moses from memory.
“Religion” books are not a book up a bunch of rules. The Bible is a collection of historical studies. Obviously I don’t think everything is accurate. I believe the book of genesis is metaphorical about the creation of man. I know man has been around longer than 9000 years.
However the some of the New Testament books line of up with historical events of Ancient Rome occupying Israel.
Also Christianity has had a major impact on Western Civilization. Studying the Bible from a secular standpoint will better help you understand influences and even idioms. The sayings “the writing is on the wall” and “going to hell in a hand basket” were taken from biblical texts.
Anyway anyone who wants to burn bibles have never read the Bible. But given all the Marxism going on now (Sean King wants to tear down Jesus statues) I bet this will be next. It’s horrifying.
More than likely. The air we breathe has nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, as well as a few others on a smaller scale. This would still be a fact that would one day be rewritten. Religious writings require the stories that were told. Without exact knowledge of those stories, then they couldn't be rewritten exactly as they were. Let's say entire civilization fell apart down to the stone ages. Science would still eventually be rediscovered even if by different people and names, but the current religions wouldn't be able to exist without the exact books that we have know telling us about these religions.

Of course, Science is based on axiomatic systems, starting from a few postulates you can derive the rest of the theory.
For example, burn all books of special relativity, I can derive the same theory within 30 minutes based on literally two lines:
1. The laws of physics take the same form in all inertial frames
2. Speed of light is the same in all inertial frames
In fact that's the recommended way to learn special relativity. No textbook needed.
In a similar way you can derive classical mechanics from Newton's laws.
That saying is perhaps inspired by Feynman, we can derive a vast amount of information from this little sentence "all things are made of atoms—little particles that move around in perpetual motion, attracting each other when they are a little distance apart, but repelling upon being squeezed into one another".
This is not about making new progress in science, this is about recovering previous progress from known postulates. What it basically says is that the logic of scientific theory is both sound and complete

There’s many many many errors that have gone uncorrected (on purpose) for both the scientific and religious communities. For example patents that ignored because the patent clerks are trained to believe the laws of physics are their own religious dogma and can’t be broken. The laws are quite often wrong. rg=G 2m/c^2 (it’s a little g under the r, forget how to type it out here) is so important I wanted to get it as a tattoo but decided to make it into a tshirt. Basically says black holes are impossible and gravitational collapse can’t happen, anti gravitational bodies CAN exist in the universe.
an example for religion would be how no one realizes how Cain was only a half brother of Abel and Adam was not Cains biological father.

Not really. Look at religion, they are pretty much the same. Atheists don't study religion (or science for the most part), so they don't have any understanding of it. If you look religions across the world are pretty similar. Now would names change? Sure. But the essence of it? No. if you look at polytheistic religions for instance, their is archetypical dieties, no matter where in the world you go, no matter the era, their is a creator god who is almost always patriarchal (fatherly), their is a trickster type etc. In all of them they tell you how to be a proper human being and while their is some deviation their, the basics are the same i. e. do not kill, do not steal, be righteous, do not give into base desires etc.
You never know how long it would take humans to progress this far technologically. It might take a lot longer to recover. Our current level of scientific advancement has a lot of complexity and wouldn’t transfer well through oral history. The general principles of a religion on the other hand could be orated relatively well since they are relatively simplistic in nature. In reality all you would have to do if have groups of people collaboratively remember a single book. Science has tons of layers and no one ever grasps all aspects of it. It’s too large for any small group even of advanced experts to pass along successfully.
Yes, I agree I think Science books would come back but the religious books or bibles would not, course a part of Jesus robe came upon this ocean it washed up and I believe he sends signs, looks about 2 years ago we had Ebola virus and a West African man passed away with it in a Texas Hospital, then the Nurse caring for him caught it but she is disabled from the medication they gave her to treat for the Ebola and they claim it affected her liver and few other people from the US took sick we almost had a pandemic but now we have COVID-19, look the diseases that were mentioned in the bible, oh they said, the man who wrote the bible was no dam good, well bullshit he was so he knows, I believe Small Pox, Polio, etc will return just matter of time and history does repeat itself.
Well, you would obviously have to do more than just burn books and the science could come back slightly differently because we dont have a complete picture yet so maybe the 2nd time around we would have a unified theory or something like that.
But its an analogy anyway, the point is to illustrate that one is something randomly pulled out of someones ass and the other is taken from the real world so yeah, the science would essentially be the same, maybe you call the symbols something different or the units of measurement might be different but the processes described would be the same and if there was any disagreement between the 2 it would be because one had a better understanding that the other, it would be a more advanced theory, which is fine, thats whats great about science, there are no authorities in science, you have to prove everything.
Of course! In a few billion years, astronomy might no longer be a science, because the galaxies will be too far apart to see, but cells with still be cells, atoms will still be atoms, with nucleii. The explanations might be different (like relativity vs. Newtonian gravity), but generally consistent.
I am an atheist but I know that statement is wrong. Science changes constantly as we learn different things.
If that statement is true then we must still be living in a heliocentric universe and the earth is flat. There is going to be an ice age around the turn of the year 2000. Leeches cures what ails you.
TRUTH, is truth, and science, and the natural curiosity of humans will always bring us back to something like SCIENCE! Love it or hate it, for whatever reason. We are somehow 'programmed' to question, wonder, and explore!! With that comes ''Interpreting, hypothesizing, and formulating!"
As much as I think religious things are not fully accurate no, as science is not fully accurate too but is all ways updated. I think it's good to see how a mind works and if they can think with logic or not. Its got to happen where people who are religious look at it properly and update it to real knowledge from now days.

Mostly, yes. Perspective/interpretation of findings may evolve in how the findings are observed. I mean, if some crazy assed theology evolves in this time it could affect interpretation. The results shall remain the same but how humans understand them could possibly be different.
Of course. I mean after all, without people spreading religion throughout the world, it seems as though different regions of the world have different religion, and very much today, despite how much we are connected, what religion you think is true is heavily influence by the culture you grow up in. All the while, people around the world could agree on scientific results. If you tested the laws of physics in the US, they don’t change because you go to another country.

Probably. Science is more constant and more relevant to the world than religion is in my opinion.
For the most part yes. Religions come and go throughout history. Except for maybe a few Eastern religions, like Hindu, all the religions today will have become footnotes in 1000 years.
The science books would not come back in the exact same way. A lot of our knowledge has a historical component and all of that would be wiped out.
Why would the laws of physics, chemistry, etc be different?
