I would say humility is not always applied because people have incorrect ideas about what humility looks like, how it is achieved, or they have been proud for so long that becoming humble is to difficult for them to easily do so their is a transition period before they can become humble. Some might have triggers that prevent humility such as caring too much about praise or criticism which keeps them locked in this cycle of fear and arrogance.

This got me thinking about celebrities who claim to be christian. Its Impossible to be a celebrity and to be humble. You can't have one without the other, you can't do one without doing the other.
