All Catholic monks and traditional priests pray the Divine Hours which includes Matins, Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline. So that's 8 times daily. It's based on ancient prayer that has been around since before Christianity. A lot of Catholics try to emulate that by doing at least some of them each day.
I find it kind of humorous that people think Islam is strict when it doesn't even come close to Judaism in terms of rules. I mean, Jews have codified and laid out rules for every portion of life. Islam only has kept a few of those because it came to simplify previous religions.
You don't need to pray daily to be a Christian, just that you should. I pray only before bed and I don't currently attend a Church. It's not required for Salvation, it's not required if opting to do good works, it's not required that we pray to a pagan box in a certain direction to somehow be heard. That's what makes us very, very different. Jesus was loving and merciful and wants you to accept Him and live your life according to His teachings first and foremost. You should pray for thanks, for forgiveness, and for the protection and guidance for your loved ones and circle. But you dont need this five times a day, or even three times a day.
I don't think the point is that christians think they /can't/ pray that many times a day, it's that they don't want to - And we know that the muslims, though they would never admit it, don't want to, either.
Islam uses a collection of tactics to keep the muslims mind too busy to question their religion. Now, all religious do this, but none are quite so invasive and life-consuming as islams are. People are surprised by islams constant need for prayer, because they understand it's a rather cruel way the faith is designed to control the believer.
That’s a lot of prayer. And very few Christians pray three times a day anymore.

I really don’t get a lot of hate towards Muslims at times.
usually from people that have never interacted with any.
I’ve got quite a few friends who are Muslims (live, work and socialise near Birmingham etc you do).
i would say 90% I have zero problems with, some of that 10% I think would be arseholes no matter the religion.
yeah they pray a lot, so do a lot of Catholics.
i think 5 is average and 7 or so is expected.
People just have a stick up their ass when it comes to Muslims and Jews, is all.
But yeah Muslims perform 5 salah, and they do 2 more additionally if they wish.
They perform salah, and the prayer comes after the salah.

Not all muslims are that religious to pray 5 times a day. We have a Friday as important day to pray and just praying weekly only in Friday also works.
Because the world has gone Heathen, they simply refuse to Acknowlege there is a God that doesn't approve of thier sinful livestyles
