Sort of but it's a bit complicated so I can't vote. I made friends with a dude from Egypt when I was in the military, and he amazed me with how much beef he could have with other Muslims. It kind of sucked though because it was after 9/11 and he'd get called in to read people's letters between people because "it must be a terrorist attack plan" and he'd come back and tell me, "Dude, it was just another love letter between a couple." The thing I liked about him is he made me highly aware that there are different types of Muslims. Not all of them are Wahabi suicide and knife attack types.

Then there was this dude from Haiti... I won't speak much on him. He would tell me gore stories, but was really retarded and not interesting.

Then there was this dude from Iraq during the war. For some reason he really wanted to go to some wedding, but knew Saddam at the time would make him serve in the military for such and such years. I was like, "dude just stay here in Hollywood and lets finish watching the Sappranos," but he really had to do it. He left and never came back... The most I seen after that was floating around in the ocean of the coast of Kuwait watching oil fires and getting the sponsons hit with sand during storms. I used to look out at that bullshit and think, "wow, you know back in the bible days that land used to be with trees and plants and shit" But hey, that's global warming stuff that a global warming activist would have no idea about... like how the earth has been heating up before the industrial revolution and it's just natural.

I'm digressing... just like to shoot the shit.

One of my best friends from childhood got a job in high school at a quick mart. The owner got her to convert to Muslim, she moved to Jordan on an arranged marriage, and moved back here to the US, and they now have some kids and another quick mart.. Not that Muslims are bad, but this is 1 thing I thought was odd. I miss my friend. We had fun, but the Muslim religion doesn't allow the women to do a lot of fun things.

there are likely more, however some I’ve never asked about their religion.

A couple are close friends in my ‘Petrolhead’ group of mates.

i do tend to just group friends as friends and it’s more about say our mutual interest in cars.

where I lived in Birmingham there were a good mix of ethnicities and religions

I think for me, it is different.

In the media, they are the most serious folks. They don't have a sense of humor. They don't drink, they don't get high. . . they are perfect. . . except for their religious extremism.

When in truth, many are as weird, confused, messy, and as messed up as we are. They are just people trying to figure it out.

They behave and act like anyone else, and honestly until they or someone else tells me they're Muslim, I can't tell the difference (nor do I care for that matter).

I studied with several Muslims in high school and knew some of them personally. I found them kind and humble people who respect others and follow their faith with complete loyalty.
However, I believe people are different and should not be judged according to their religion, race, language etc, as their personality is the only thing that matters. Respect the individual first before the community they belong to.

Voted B, although it's been a long time. We used to choose pubs with pool tables for Friday work lunches during Ramadan so he had something to do. And I dated one for a while. I still miss her. She's a university professor now, I think.

I know several Muslims. One of my best friends who had just passed was a Muslim. In the military there were several in the ranks that were Muslim. They were the best personnel in my ranks.
