I just do a quick google search and find that taharrush has no corelation with islam nor with arab culture. But it does have corelation with arab as it was known coming from arab. It's an arab rape game.


I'm a muslim by birth. Nearly convert to christianity for their God already sacrifice himself for their believers sins. But I stick to islam as so far they have lots of rules regarding accountability.


How do I feel as a muslim when taharrush happen to women, you asked? I feel hurt. There are two reasons for that. I'll say first as a human being, because I love my mother. That woman could be someone's mother, or sister, or wife. And the second is because it seems people use it to denigrate islam, uplifting stereotypical believe on muslim men. Especially when there's no accountability related to islam that'a such practice is supported.

There are more bad muslims who think their religion blesses them with entitlement. Muslims who completely disregard their treatment of muslim women in their religion. There is honour in Islam and in families so it's best for these women of sexual violence to keep quite to save face in public honor. This is why rapes in the middle east are not reported because the women who report the rapes are thrown in jail. I will pray for you in hopes that you see your faith in a logical and rational way and listen to reason rather than speculation based on a book.

Though, I'm not in control for those bad Muslim, they are bad people who happen to be Muslim.
In Islam itself it is mandatory to be keep integrity, honest, moderation, and be respectful towards women, and many other virtues. Have honor and respecting family also one of them. But protecting criminal is no way to have honor and respecting family. I've never heard any virtues regarding saving face to avoid shame. But I know one to tell the truth and make accountable for one's mistake. Not to protect criminal behavior. And be a person that speak up in case of a crime is surely a way to have honor to prevent more crimes from happening.

Taharrush has nothing to do with islam. In fact pre marital sex is one of the biggest sin in the islamic religion. Muslims are not even allowed to look at women. Never mind raping them so you should really have a big brain (!) if you think there is a coalition between taharrush and islam. Islam has many problems but taharrush is not one of them.

Taharrush is common mostly in countries like arab countries and afghanistan. Its a cultural element of arabs and afghans. They were performing it way before existence of islam. Any Muslim outside of arab world or afghanistan most likely have never even heard of it in their life.

Personally I know what it is because afghan refugees in my country commited it once. It made it into news and everyone was shocked about it. As Turkish people we have never even heard of this word before the arrival of afghan refugees into our lands.

Afghans also have another backwards tradition called bacha bazi (raping little boys) and that has nothing to do with islam aswell.

Taharrush is chaos. It's a plague. To me, it has no rational explanation. And I hope it's not gonna spread any more than it already has. But please bear in mind that its perpetrators are not muslim.
