He's the most evil pope we've ever had. The previous pop just happens to "resign" for the first time in 1,200 years? He just happens to be the first non-European pope? Give me a break.
I notice you didn't include the option to say he's actually a rotten Pope. Benedict was far preferable to this guy, and I don't believe for one minute that he stepped down for "health reasons".
There are people who actually believe he stepped down for health reasons?
@KostasKouvalis Is that you Brian? :)
No, if he was good he would of pawned his chair and use the money to feed the people he pretends to pray for
You don't get to the top by being a great guy, kiddo. You need good friends and a good head.

No. In fact, I think that in time (50 to 100 years from now), history will judge him very harshly. I think he will be remembered as one of the worst popes the Church has ever had.
Since you specifically mention character, let's get that out of the way first. He has a detailed history of very juvenile thinking and behavior, and of incredible arrogance. No less than Father Peter Hans Kolvenbach (God rest his soul), the former Superior General of the Jesuits, the order to which Francis belonged before his election as pope, is on record saying that then-Jorge Mario Bergoglio was known to explode in fits of childish rage whenever someone questioned him or something didn't go his way and was also known to use very vulgar language that a priest should never use. Kolvenbach opposed then-Bergoglio's appointment as a bishop for that and other reasons as well.
For the record, Jesuits are not supposed to become bishops or cardinals, let alone popes. Francis asked Rome for an exception to this rule.
Then, something most of us could probably agree on, there's Francis' sickening, disturbing, vomit-inducing affection and preference for sexual predators (like Theodore McCarrick, Juan Barros, and Marko Rupnik; look them up), sexual perverts (like James Martin), or their defenders, enablers, and cheerleaders (like Blase Cupich and Robert McElroy).
For example, here's a special report on Robert McElroy, the bishop of San Diego, who, last year, was made a cardinal by Pope Francis...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/7KllLfIMDrkLastly, as one of the few members of G@G (to my knowledge, at least) who actually knows the Church and her theology, practice, and belief and their application to the daily life of a Catholic, there are all sorts of other finer points of Francis' pontificate that I won't get into much detail on. Suffice it to say, in my opinion, there ought to be some serious questions about, investigations into, and definitive statements made about him by a future pope.
The problems the Church is facing right now predate Francis by decades. Francis is just the one accelerating and deepening them. Long story short though, Francis is most definitely not a man of praise-worthy character, the "people's pope", or whatever other fawning praises have been heaped upon him over the years.
He has definitely some weird fetish with feet of boys with high melanin content, to say it politically correct.
I think the whole Vatican needs a change. Get a younger pope and archbishops and all that. Trade their robes and hats for modern suits and ties. Allow priests to be married and actually have a pope that has a wife and family.
I think Francis should politely retire. The Catholics need a warrior like john Paul.
He wears clothes that cost more than my car and preaches against poverty, I don't take him seriously at all!!!
He's a big lying P. O. S. like all the Popes before him..
No he's a false teacher in my opinion
He’s a Catholic. ‘Nuff said
