Is it blasphemous to say someone is being lead to hell or is going to hell?

Blasphemy is defined as a lack of respect towards God, religion, or something sacred.


So, I wouldn’t call it blasphemy exactly.


But, it would be considered self-righteous—which is something God really does not like.


Only God can know who will go to heaven or hell.


God alone knows the hearts of people.


One who proclaims the fate of someone without having the knowledge or power to do so, is trying to play God.


It is not their place to say such a thing.

If a pastor says you are saved, do not believe them.

If a pastor says you are damned, do not believe them.

Your salvation and your destiny is only between you and God.

We may never be 100% who is going to heaven or hell. But, at the end of the day, God will do what is right.

i'm an atheist but former christian (i read the bible in it's entirety myself), so i think i can still speak on this. i do think if you say someone is going to hell, you are appropriating gods judgement. meaning you put yourself in gods place or on the same level with god, which i don't think your god would like very much.

If there truly was a Hell and a God in that way, then Hell would be the best place to be in all honesty.

Do you not believe that anyone can end up in Heaven or Hell besides just Nazis and racist (besides just the people you see as bad people.)? Because even if you don’t believe in God or a final place after death, do you not believe that by nature none of us are good people? So that even if we don’t go to Heaven or Hell there is a place in which you go after death that fits who you truly were here on earth.

And none of us of are perfect so you won’t go to a perfect place that is if you don’t believe in Heaven or Hell so it’s other ways to view it in that case but even in the other cases, you’re not just gonna be surrounded by perfection or goodness.

It's ignorance. The Bible is talking about hell on earth while alive not afterlife.
The Bible teaches people how to live a heavenly life instead of a hell of a life.
Most people are living in hell. Very few are living a heavenly life even though all can.

It's truly sad that some people really believe the Bible is saying some are going to hell after life for being subjected to a life that lead to hell. That person is ignorant beyond the Bible.

Yea. From my biblical understanding Hell is only a temporary holding place until final judgment. The lake to fire for unbelievers is the final place. When we don’t allow Gods truth in, our mind in itself is in hell and it shows outwardly in the decisions we make that are against everything God wants for us. So when I hear people who say they believe in God tell others they’re being lead to hell or are going to hell it often tells me more about them than the person they’re sending such harsh judgement on. All of us are born sinners but through Christ we can all be redeemed and saved and to tell someone they’re being lead or going to Hell goes against salvation being true.

Jesus on the Sermon on the mount said this: “anyone that calls another a fool, or who allows their right eye or hand to sin will be cast into hell”

He said it, but he didn’t tell us to tell others that they will go to hell because of that. He warned of what would send you to hell, he didn’t judge, he informed and warned. Much different than saying “You’re going to hell” or”This or that person is leading you to hell.”

I understand your point. But I think Jesus IS telling people they are going to hell if they commit these sins isn't all that different than you seeing someone sinning and you saying they are going to hell?
I guess it matters on the reason you are saying it... Are you trying to point out the error in their ways? Or are you happy they are going to hell? Do you know what I mean?
Examples:
If you keep doing that you'll be going to hell.
Or
Hahaha, you are going to hell!!

I get what you mean. Some people say it as harsh judgement as a means to hold something over the persons head. As if to say “I have the keys to the kingdom. You can’t receive the same keys I have. I’ve repented. I’m righteous and you’re not.” That’s what it seems to me that they are saying without actually saying it and ultimately they are wrong. He with no sin cast the first stone.

You would be stepping on our fathers toes. Being only God can judge or send someone to hell. And you don't know what's going on in somebody's head really, not being a mind reader right. It's best if you know who somebody is and it's not good don't fellowship. Really get them out of your life if there an evil doer.

Some actions do in fact lead souls to Hell. It is perfectly legitimate to warn someone of such, but you also have neither the knowledge or the authority to judge one's soul.
