How often do you experience déjà vu?

It happened to me regularly and most of them made no sense. It really confused me. Then by chance I read an article in a psychology magazine that a lot of déjà vus are simply synaptic misfirings, due to external conditions, like missing sleep. And I can confirm, since I changed my sleep pattern I have no longer déjà vus!

I’ve experienced it a couple of times but usually it’s not a scenario which gives me déjà but a feeling or a movement I’ve felt or done before. Sometimes in a completely different scenario but it’s a small thing that makes me think of something I’ve experienced before

I don't think I ever have. The way people describe it, to me it just seems that those who experience it are just reliving a scenario that is very similar to one they've encountered long before, but which the memory of is no longer readily accessible.

I had a weird experience at a local shopping mall. A guy was collecting signatures to get something on the ballot. I refused to sign and made some comment that there was too much development already. He said something like, well people keep having babies.

About 2-3 years later, what appeared to be the same guy, at the same mall, collecting signatures. We had the exact same conversation, including his response.

Dejan vu is caused by dysfunctional connections between the parts of your brain that play a role in memory recollection and familiarity. Electrical malfunctions from things like seizures can make them happen more frequently.
