I had an old friend who has recently asked me for a relationship. He was an atheist when I knew him, but he was against drinking, intimacy with women and being touched by and touching women. I just thought he was autistic. Which he is. I recently looked at his Facebook page; and he’s a member of a Muslim group called ‘Allah forgive me.’ Does that mean he converted to Islam, or is it just a figure of speech? If so, what does it mean?

He could be just in the group out of curiosity, you probably misdiagnosed him as "autistic" and the group appears more a confessional group than a religious one.
Islam does not have clerics. Nor does it go for the "confess your sins" vibe that Catholics have.

+1 yYes seems like he converted and it's basically the equivalent to I'm a sinner for Muslims, it's like saying forgive me because they know they sin, every believe knows sin/haram is inevitable so it's something they accept but still try to remain holy, but knowing they will eventually sin shows imperfection and they are aware of that and when someone says Allah forgive me or god forgive me it's like asking for mercy and forgiveness for being a sinner.

He has converted or he has the thought in his mind about converting.

Opinion Owner+1 ySorry. I wrote it incorrectly. What is his family's religion? If his family is Muslim, that might be why he said this. Therefore, being a member of the page in question may be an indication that he is turning to Islam again.
They do shit and pray allah to be forgiven, and them they do shit again.

I rather go by this...
Matthew 7:4 Context
1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. - +1 y
As in one would be a hypocrite if the person beat a woman when he is just as much of a sinner as she was made out to be.
John 8:7 Context
4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? - +1 y

It says it in the bible that Jesus is both God and the Son of God.
King James Version John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
The word is God, the word is the bible for us to read and the Word was here in the beginning.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
And the word Jesus who has always been here was made flesh. - +1 y
@sean1234 " John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." Him= jesus? Where? Your interpretation too. What make you think jesus created everything. If jesus was God then he could just appear! Why born from vagina? Jesus was praying to the father? Was he praying to himself to save himself?
- +1 y
My interpretation? I don't interpret, I only read it as it is.
John 1:3,6-8,17,20 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
It's kind of plainly stated, nothing to interpret. - +1 y
The Bible isn't just about law and history, but promises. For him to show himself early, he would be breaking that promise. Here's one promise...
King James Version Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
It says he will arrive like a thief in the night, the dead will rise, then the living will rise and meet with him in the clouds... to go to heaven. The antichrist will pose as Jesus. A Jesus will appear as the bible says, however it will actually be Satan as the bible says fooling people. - +1 y
@sean1234 the trinity made me atheist and I left the Christianity 6 years ago. You still didn't give me a verse from the bible where jesus claims to be the God. Hope you find the tranquility in christianity because my mind can't accept the idea of jesus being God. When he was asked about the hour, he said that only the father knows the time. So how jesus can be God? I will stop replying to you. The trinity gives me a headache. Have a nice evening/ day.
- +1 y
The trinity technically is catholic doctrine and not Christian. The trinity makes father son holy spirit the same , the Christian Godhead makes them separate. It's kind of very confusing.
As for Jesus being God, he healed the sick, raised the dead, did his disciples not call him God? I showed you John calling him God, now here's Thomas more directly saying it.
-King James Version John 20:27-29 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Even the Jews that hated Jesus wanted him dead for calling himself God!
-King James Version John 10:32-33 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
God is called "I AM" in the old testament!!!
-John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Only the Father knows the time, him and the father are one, SO both quite frankly know everything the other knows.
