If you are a prostitute, then you can heal and use that to help others leave the profession. Giving from your wounds will be very powerful... once healed. So many get trapped under the weight of lifes traumas and lack of options and need help getting out. If you don't, then ok. The real issue is "setting the prisonsers free"... of their sins... eg. the traumatic emotions of this world holding them back from responding to God in the moment, etc. love, whose image we were made in. That's all. Even the Apocrypha doesn't add much (well, pre-Asencion, anyway; she has some impressive moments in the apocryphal Acts books).
Now, there WERE some women who were viewed as sexual sinners involved, and there were several Marys, on top of all this being written down decades after the fact, as part of an underground apocalypse cult that would later inspire a revolution that was cracked down on brutally, so some confusion is natural.

Worth remembering the Bible didn't turn her into a prostitute until the Middle Ages. Even if she was a prostitute she was most likely a slave and had little say in the matter. Christians also conveniently forget that while the men hid both Marys attended the crucifixion

I believe this is simple.
First of all, you need to believe. Believe that everything is possible when it comes to God. Pray to God for help. Get up on your feet. Remember that in order to get help from God, one needs to work for it, so praying is a good start and a strong thing💪.
As we are trying to change that... we are also keeping our distance from that specific thing that we wanna change from. Who knows what would happen if we keep on trying. The result would be the best. All things are possible with Him🙂.
In my opinion, if one has to earn help from God, then that “help” is not a gift and not worth having. I avoid asking for help like the plague because I’m usually left feeling like I owe the person something. Also, I’m not much of a talker, especially when it comes to one-sided conversations, a. k. a. praying. If I must work for help from God, then he can shove that help and do his worst.
Well, what kind of help do you need, and what could we actually offer? If you're "trying" to be a real Christian (whatever that is precisely) then obviously the very notion conflicts with an aspect of who you are, so perhaps being a "real Christian" isn't something you should aim for.

Actually, every Christian I know is a flawed person and they are all sinners. We try each day to be a better person, and some days are better than others, but we keep trying. Being a Christian does not mean living a perfect life.
You shouldn't "try" to be anything spiritual. You should look to your heart and know what is right for you.
There is a lot that is good about true spirituality and knowing God/Goddess. Though there is a lot that is controlling and manipulative within the average US Christian church establishment you should be very wary of!
Come to understand Jesus as a architype for how to be a better human, and don't let Christian dogma blind you to the faults and floors of organised Christianty.

That is an extremely broad category. It is easier to change behavior if you focus on a fairly narrow category, such as "I want to stop eating carbohydrates," or, "I want to stop staying awake past midnight every night."
And if you are at the beginning of trying to change a range of behaviors, it is more likely to be successful if you first focus on a specific behavior that will be relatively easier to change, rather than picking your most difficult behavior to challenge first.
