Did you know Harboring Resentments will make you spiritually sick? Can you forgive people who hurt you if you see that they are spiritually sick too?

I was in Jail yesterday (dui) when I cracked open an AA book. I read this and I realized How much anger I had for these people who have ruined my life and gotten me fired for no reason.
I started crying. I can see it now and I'm finally free.

I get that. What's abnormal about you? Normal is so Overrated and Boring...

I don't know what a happy and supportive family is like. I don't know what one does in a healthy childhood. I have almost no empathy. I don't know what the appeal of children or marriage is because I was raised to see it only as a forced obligation, not as a good thing. Etc

Ohh sorry. That's no fun. Parents are supposed to love their children unconditionally. But many are just horrible. Did you find support from your friends or anyone else?

I don’t. I can’t. As an alcoholic at the top of my last slippery slope, my next resentment will likely kill me. I’m not afraid to die, but i’m in no hurry either. Ell oh ell!

It’s interesting how i’ve come to admire celebrities more when i find out that they have years of sobriety under their belt. Similarly, when i know this and they slide, i actually feel a deep sympathy for them, an otherwise complete stranger to me. It hurts too if they apparently die of overdose or something else related to their addiction and/or use of drugs or alcohol.
