Today my pastor called me to his office and get every angry at the fact that I help out a woman pay for her nedical expenses and also the pastor complaining about ask why would I tip the restaurant waitress $100 instead I should be going that money out to the church he also went in telling me I will end up in hell for helping people. I do pay my tighting every Sunday I just can't understand why would my pastor get upset over me helping other people he was angry expected mento donate that money ti the chruch instead of helping a woman who is jobless went on that I should given up that $100 to the church instead of handing it out to the waitress. I tough us Christians we should have compassion be kind server other. What is going on?
+1 yI’m sorry to say this, but your pastor is a false teacher. You are right, Jesus does encourage us to have compassion on others and to help the poor and needy. Any church or pastor who does not uphold the fundamental teachings of Christ is not a church worth attending. It’s good that this alarmed you, because it absolutely should. I highly recommend you leave or at least call out the hypocrisy.

You are absolutely correct! Yes I did call out the pastor on his hypocrisy and horrible behavior. I also decided to quit I can't continue supporting a church like that. I am now searching for a new church.

No, you're right. Christianity does call for compassion, and donating to a church is optional. You can donate your money to whoever you want, if you want. It's yours. He sounds like a psycho. It's people like him that unfortunately give ignorant people a reason to talk badly about religious people as a whole, saying this as a non-religious person.

It's a sign that you are going to the wrong church.
Charity is a virtue. You did a really good thing by helping that lady. You may not imagine what it meant to her. You're a really good person for helping those who are less fortunate.32 Reply- +1 y
Thank you Sir in my heart I felt the money would be more useful to them instead of my pastor. Yes I just renounce to that church. It's Assemblies of God Iwas attending.
He's afraid that you are leading by example & if too many people follow your lead he will have less money to stuff his own pockets with. That's the bottom line. Most churches today are a joke compared to what they're supposed to be.

Also reminds me of a famous basketball player who told his fiance months in advance that she needed to sign a prenup if she wanted to get married. She swore that she would... and he foolishly went ahead with all the planning for a wedding. $100k+ wedding. On the day of the wedding she hadn't signed the papers and HER pastor came to him telling him that it was God's will that he not make her sign any papers. Guy called off the wedding.

u +1 yBeing s pastor does not make a man a sincere Christian!

You are absolutely correct.
Sounds like you're pastor is both corrupt and money hungry which in of itself is considered a sin. If it were me, I'd leave and either go to another church or worship on my own. FYI it's not a pastors place to cast judgement and tell people they are going to hell.

The book of Isaiah rebukes the Israelites who abuse the poor and the widows and then try to justify themselves via offerings.

Sad. I tough being a christia was about helping other. Jesusbtought us to share and helping others. I am considering going to Lutheran Church. I am going to Assemblies of God I feel sad. I also found our Katherine kirk is all a scam and she's charging people to get exorcism. Jesus never charge us for our salvation. I feel and my gut told me inside me that the waitress and the other lady really needed the mind my pastor lives in a $2billion mansion. I don't understand why he would need us donated more other then the 10% of our paycheck. Crazy I feel betrayed.
