What's funny about both is that, it both asks the same question of, well, if "god/s" exist, and it/they/them created everything, in a week or whatever it is they say in the bible, then, what created god, and what created the thing that created god etc..

On the other hand, if you believe in the big bang, that everything came from the singularity that already existed, then who created the singularity, and who created the thing/person whatever that created that, and so on...

Me, while I don't know the answer to either, i like to believe that god, created, the singularity. That god CREATED evolution. But, that's just me

Truthfully it's the chicken/egg problem. Who created the singularity that created the Big Bang? And, oddly, it is, similarly, just like Creationism, as in it's the "something out of nothing," argument!

However, the "everything in seven days" is a ridiculous argument when there is evidence on this earth that it took billions of years for what is here now to develop, and we've gone through multiple ages of animals and plants that no longer exist, which is why we have all those lovely bones of giant lizards.

But, of course, humans have only been here 6,000 years, and there are lizard people living in the molten center of the Earth, and the Earth is flat, and I have land to sell you in Florida along with a winning lottery ticket.

Yet, the idea of a benevolent creator is a wonderful one: Not the biblical, angry, jealous God raining down fire and brimstone on stupid humans, because we tend to be a dumb creation.

So there's an argument that there isn't a God. We're too stupid and flawed to be made in a perfect God's image and likeness. Ah, well..

I'm sure to God time and space mean nothing. To him 1,000 years to us are like one day to him. He could have been around for a couple of zillion years before he even made the Earth and its heavens. I don't think God would ever be bored, but he must have been when he made us. 😯

Or how about this. Humankind (before even diverging into sexes) existed in spiritual realms, and the creation myth is easily interpreted to congrue with that idea. And very valid science, such as what Wolfgang Pauli, a highly awarded pioneer in quantum physics proposed, supports the existence of spiritual a dimension.

Those even if you simply stretch the "day can be thousand years" it still isn't emphasizing enough that we exist as spiritual beings.

In other words, we have a huge problem that mainstream religion is heavily materialistic and anti spirit.

You landed on the logical necessity for a spirit god... as several philosophers pointed out: god must be, by definition and essence , the ultimate cause, without needing a cause. Spinoza , des cartes, and more.

The word singularity is used for black holes and other EXCEPTIONS to physics so it is really just another word for miracle... as you said "who made the singularity ", also who changed the singularity to expand in big bang.

In contrast god by definition existed endlessly infinitely so didn't need a cause. In other words the reason the world was created is not "because nothing can exist by itself" but because the world has a beginning.

I don't necessarily believe that a singular big bang created the universe, but I do ascribe to the scientific theories, as I don't believe in an all powerful God/creator.

The reason I don't specifically believe in a singular "big bang" is due to it being just a theory, at this point, and there are various other scientific theories that could potentially explain the creation of the universe, and many of them are potentially valid. I'll refine my opinion as more evidence becomes available.

We know that the universe couldn't have just come into being, because our observations and the laws that govern the universe will never be able to support that. For example, the laws of time and existence would break down, and the so-called singularity wouldn't have existed. That means there's some external power that doesn't follow the confines or laws of existence and the observable universe. It doesn't matter what we call it now—it's responsible for the creation, or rather, the existence of the universe. Don't you think?

I'm not claiming to know what brought the universe into being. I'm not an astrophysicist, and even if I was, they don't even claim to know.

What they have are a handful of theories that can be supported by the scientific knowlege that we, as a species, currently posses, and none of those theories are "a magic being that exists outside of time & space" because there is no evidence to support such a theory.

If such a time comes where science can supply evidence that such a God exists, then I would be willing to accept that, specifically because of the fact that such evidence were to be produced.

What I can not do, is accept that a God or supreme being exists on faith, because faith operates on belief, in the absence of evidence. I don't accept things blindly, just because some people, thousands of years ago, said in must be true, because they had no other explanation for natural events. Explanations that we do, now, posses.

If you believe in a God, or a higher power, that's great. I respect that, and I'm not trying to change your mind, or convince you otherwise, nor are you going to be able to change my mind.

I think creationism is just ancient mythology. Every society has had its own creation myth. What makes the Jewish one more valid than any others?

I don't think "the big bang" is the final answer to how or when everything started, but at least it is an attempt to rationally find answers.

I don't know why people assume that a god or supreme consciousness started everything. Maybe it did. But it's interesting that people still try to explain the unknown by attributing things to gods.

Yes, it is mythology, as in, mystery schools who knew the truth were not allowed to teach the public or else they'd get executed like socrates.

However, even with the exoteric ignorance, still, 2 thousand years ago 0% of people believed in a 7 day creation, that's a modern nonsensical invention.

All these "myths", 100% all of them, are intended to tell the bigger picture indirectly.

Even if you believe in the partially flawed theory of evolution (which is aslo an occult truth to an extent), that we evolved from amoebas - the genesis strory still accurately depicts the often overlooked details.

Like many other creation myths it first mentions the creation of man in both male and female, and only a chapter later the division into sexes. Amoebas, theoretically would've been first the androgynous ancestors which then later diverged into sexed life forms.

Then in the garden of eden, many interpretation literally stress the fact that man was a beast, with no mind of his own. That lucifer gave him the capacity for judgment and pride, "knowledge of good and evil", or the integration of an ego, none of which animals have. Until then, human's were apes in a garden, which would be in line with maimstream understanding of evolution.

So quite clearly if you think for just a moment about the bible story, it tells us the opposite of the popular modern 7 day creation delusion.

Personally, I don't give a lot of time to considering the question. My time on this planet is valuable, and I want to enjoy it, and not worry about my death and what happens afterward. I just lost my only brother to Cancer, and am grieving his death at this point.

I believe that both have an equal chance of being real due to neither having substantial evidence. Maybe God created the Big Bang. Maybe the Big Bang created God. Maybe neither are true and we got here some other way. No one knows, which is why I find it ridiculous that people will let religion dictate their life and views.

Fair enough. I meant that there is a God who set everything up, but is not concerned with the affairs of existence. I don't believe in a God who interjects to change things in people's lives. So It's not that the God I believe in has no interest in anything. Just no interest in human pleasure, pain, happiness, justice etc.
