What's worse, finding out god never existed or realizing god always existed?

Let's say you're either close to death or already died. What would be worse:

- Finding out god never existed and your wasted time and years believing in it. You dedicated so much, only to find out atheists were right the whole time.

- Finding out god did existed afterall and you've spent all your time and years denying its existence. The believers were right the whole time.

Being close to dying or dead and finding out god never existed. I wasted time for nothing.

Being on my deathbed or dead and finding out god always existed.

It's impossible to find out god always existed as perfect is subjective therefore can't be so as I would certainly not seen them as perfect nor would many others.

So I would only be finding out there is creator not god. Finding out a creator exists would suck though, because that means an individual was responsible for this reality. Not only is that boring but that creator has been responsible for every amount of suffering that exists, you can also say pleasure but you know a better creator could've made one without the other.

Thus the much worse reality as that means some creator condemned us to this world. Though I'm sure a religious folk would freak out a lot more.

Finding out? There's nothing to find. There's no evidence that God is real, only some old myths.

It would depend on whether god would punish you in the afterlife for not believing.

It would be infinitely better to die to dust than to be tortured for an eternal afterlife, but it would be worse to live your life for a lie and then die to dust than to live your life for your own values and then die to dust, to be redeemed, to reincarnate, or other.
