Why do Christians see Halloween as bad but Christmas as good?

In lame man terms, Halloween is not about dying but about keeping away evil spirits. Jesus wasn't born on Christmas day, Christmas has to do with the change in season. BOTH are Pagan celebrations (they believed in multiple gods). Why is one ok and the other one not? If Halloween is unexceptionable by Christianity then they shouldn't be celebrating Christmas.

It's because of modern day anglo-saxon racism towards celtic cultures, particularly from the American far right bible thumpers.

Halloween was never seen as a bad thing in Britain. The celtic tribes had long been heavily into Christianity since Roman times, that's why you get hundreds of celtic saints from the 4th and 5th centuries. Throughout history, British Christian have fled west to escape religious prosecution, hardly something they'd do if it was pagan territory.

Early Americans wanted to promote their Anglo version of Christianity, out went celtic notions of love, forgiveness, and charity. In came obedience and fear of damnation, in short Christianity was rebranded.

It comes down to symbolism and cultural framing.

Christmas celebrates a central figure of faith, hope, and love, it aligns directly with Christian teachings.

Halloween, historically tied to pagan rituals and themes of fear, death, and the supernatural, is often seen as contrary to those values.

Perception matters one holiday reinforces core beliefs, the other challenges or exists outside them.

Wrong Halloween IS about demons. Chrismas is about christ not pagan dedpite the date. But i celebrated the costumes on Halloween s just not skeleton.

Halloween is Christian. Its litteraly all Hallows Eve, that is the Eve before all Hallows day or all saints day. Followed by all Souls day.

Certain prodestant groups have a problem with Halloween, their problem isn't that its not Christian but that its Irish Catholic. Its the old bigotry.

Christmas is the designated celebration of the birth of Christ. The 25th used to be on the winter solstice on the 23rd, that is the shortest day. It changed as ghe calender was changed to be more accurate. Many cultures and religions have celebrations on the 25th of December.

Aligning Christmas with an existing pagan tradition helped to convert people to Christianity without completely removing their traditions. Religion is full of hypocrisy.
