Was God telling me to be more picky about friends?

I used to think Christians are not allowed to reject people as friends unless they are bullies or liars.

So I accepted immoral friends, stingy friends, disrespectful friends, lazy friends, stupid friends etc…

God came to me in a dream and told me if I associate with evil people I would be destroyed.

So now I reject every one I do not like. Even if I do not know if the rejection is morally justified.

Love one another among other verses you probably referring to but thankfully this doesn't mean associating them into your circle. It also says flee from evil. Also you become who you surround yourself and so it's good and important to have a healthy friend circle. So yeah be careful who you surround yourself or little by little you will become them

That doesn't sound consistent with scripture.

It's doesn't matter what kind of title they have or that you gave them
If they do not walk the path you walk great. They can find there own. You can be friendly wave hi. Nice seeing you have a great day. And one step in front of the other

Id say do what's best for you aside from adhering to your beliefs.
