School is basically a babysitting service to get more women into the work force to make labor cheaper. Notice how now it takes two incomes for most folks to get by whereas before it wasn't the case. Thats why bells, punctuality and attendance is more important to schools than actual learning, in other words you might be failing math but thats ok as long as you show up on time 5 days per week. The only kids that learn at school and the most intelligent and of course the school pays most attention to these because they show how great the school is as an educational facility and because it requires zero effort to teach these kids, basically they learn themselves.

School also serves the government to indoctrinate kids with whatever political agenda they deem important. Whether it be today's woke politics or in the past getting kids to join the military.

This is why so many parents are home schooling. I mean if kids are barely litterate and can't do basic maths then why send them to school at all.
