Let’s start by saying my ex boyfriend came to Europe with me for my birthday after I told him i would go alone.. Our first day I got a bit jealous of two women he met through a group at a bar who are just friends and accused him of dating one of them and he said he’s not dating anyone. Then night time came and we got drunk, we spoke about one of his siblings dating (note: I am close to his cousin that’s how we met) since i was drunk I spilled the beans about this sibling and then he made a sly comment and then said he “dated” a “Russian “ girl who met his parents last year bc of his sister (she tried to get me to meet his parents after 3 dates ). I was blindsided since I never met his parents. I blew up and had a breakdown and left the hotel to go dancing and he text me while I was out alone he only went on a few dates with this girl and his sister tried to hype this person up. This is where it gets interesting (He’s never had a girlfriend and the one he counts as an ex he only saw 7 times and was long distance) Anyway, I come back to the hotel crying, of course, and he says to me, “Let me explain “ as he got up from the bed “I only said I went on dates with this girl since you kept using the word dating but i never dated her and she wasn’t Russian. I only saw her three times at the same bar my sister goes to and i deleted her number and don’t even remember her name. My sister was drunk and invited this girl to meet my parents when they were in town but i only had meetings with her at the bar & got drinks i never took her out to dinner or a proper date she was a random girl and i only saw her 3 times in the four weeks.“ I then i asked if she was introduced as a girlfriend or date and he said “my sister got excited and wanted to hype this girl up to my parents for me but didn’t go well bc they didn’t even like her. “ I haven’t spoken to her in months and it was last May”

Should I reach out to him or do you feel it’s awkward and not appropriate?

Yesterday my mom was in town and we went out to a nice restaurant and our waiter was a nice guy who looks like he’s a tad younger than me but we are in our 20s.. he was very nice and he was a nice looking guy.

He was attentive and he told us some of his favorite things on the menu. He did a good job and maybe in the back of my mind I thought he was cute and maybe said it but didn’t really think anything of it.. just a guy doing his job..

He did make eye contact with me even when just talking to my mom.. He did ask questions and asked how I got here since I’m not from this state.. I told him I was an art teacher and I told him how I stopped teaching in December to pursue something else and he tells me he understands completely and he just changed his major in college… did a 180 from film media to production…

I could tell my mom was up to something.. but the conversation was nice and he said he could give us recommendations for things to do and he tried to see if there were any free art tickets to go to the art museum.

My mom embarrassed me and told him I need to meet people and hang out and she ask him for his number and she says “maybe you have friends you can hook her up with “

It’s awkward for me and I tell him that he doesn’t have to do that or feel obligated to and i apologized… it was kind of a pause maybe because it’s awkward but he does say sure and he writes his number down

But I don’t want to reach out because I don’t know if he really wanted to or felt obligated

I met at camp and I was a loner and very quiet. no one talked to me… we sat at the same table with other people but I don't know when it started but he started paying attention to me… I told a story and he was the only one that that listened and pulled up a chair front seat.. then he complimented me and said I looked pretty in my Aeropostale shirt, he had a twin sister who sat next to me and talked to me and asked questions, and I never knew our mom’s exchanged numbers to car pool his mom asked my mother

he mentioned doing something to his wife and kept looking at me

his mother noticed me and I was known for not smiling and she told me to smile

I don’t know what he saw I was so pathetic and unsmart…

he’s the only guy who was ever kind to me and made me feel seen.

Life went on ofc he followed a couple of my cousins but never me and I believe he got my number but never reached out so I never really thought about him.

I ended up moving out of state for college and he moved to the same city. He moved to a different city and I ended up moving there for a job offer.

he's married and has a wife and he seems like a good dad and husband.. I did reach out to congratulate him and he left it on read so I moved on

One of my friends mentioned this phrase. I said, "If that's true, then if he is struggling can i assume you wouldn't help your husband?" She said "Its not my job to help him, If he is struggling and needs help, it means i need to divorce him." I responded by saying "Whats wrong with you, you're supposed to be taking care of each other." And she called me a pick me.

This more often than not seems to be the attitude of a lot of women. They dont view marriage as a partnership, they view it as a one way street where all of the benefit goes to them, and screw their husbands.

Suffice it to say, she is not my friend any more. I made her mistakes, and lost a good man. i won't be friends with people who have that kind of attitude any more.
