Like seriously, number one rule on a first date... DO NOT, talk about your past relationships. You are not there to rehash your past, it about trying to make a connection with the other person and building a possible future.

Like seriously, this woman would not get off your past relationship, every time I tried to make conversation go a different way it came back to her and previous heartbreaks.

She starts straight up crying, she is like I am so sorry, it not you, it's me. She excuses herself to go to the bathroom. She comes back and she is like,

"I am so sorry it is not you. Actually, you are being so nice and sweet, and you are very good looking, it's just that..."

"I interrupt her, it's that you are not ready to be dating yet period, right?"

she's says, "I am so sorry, but yes. I just had no idea, until right now."

I said, "Yeah, I get it. You're like the fourth woman I met online, that comes online and thinks they are not going to meet a real person and when they do, they freak out because they are not ready yet."

She says, " Yeah, you are right, but it's not you. I am so sorry; you are so nice and handsome..."

Again, I just say, "just stop, you do not think I do not know I am a nice person? You do not think I know that I am a nice-looking man? Like I have heard that shit my whole life, and I do not need to hear it from you. Obviously, it's not enough for you, so basically after weeks of talking and you assured me you were ready, you basically wasted my time today."

I walked her to the car and wished her well in life.

As children, we are told that we must be "fair" to other people, and that usually involves treating them the way we would want to be treated. So, when we start dating, most of us believe that relationships should be "fair." For most, that implies that both participants should make a substantially equal effort for their partner. But some people have different ideas about what "fairness" means, and some people get extremely upset when they decide their partner isn't being "fair."

All relationships can't always be fair. I am getting married on April 27 and my fiancee (who lived in China until she was 29 years old) knows NOTHING about American weddings, and that is what she wants: an American wedding. So I must do all of the planning. I could complain that isn't fair, but what does that accomplish?

I think "fair" isn't a useful concept for relationships. It should be replaced with two questions: are you getting your needs met in the relationship, and is your partner usually contributing to the best of his or her abilities? If the answers are "yes" and "no," then it is most likely a healthy relationship. What do you think?
