There is a stereotype that men are more visual and usually have their minds made up with 30 seconds of meeting a woman if they are interested or not.

To a certain extent that’s true. If a girl is a 5 or below to me physically I am not going to be romantically interested no matter what her personality is. That doesn’t mean I won’t treat her respectfully and be friendly (if she’s got a cool personality). I won’t be rude if she happens to show me interest (will politely decline if need be) But I can’t develop feelings.

But I am thinking that many women are more superficial than ever nowadays when it comes to looks (except if they guy is rich and/or famous)

That’s not to say they shouldn’t have standards. I don’t expect a beautiful 22 yr old woman to not reject a chubby balding 35 yr old guy. But I notice that the less attractive a man is to a woman the more difficult, challenging and bitchy she will be to him.

I know this because I’m my 20s most women considered me a 8 to 9 physically. I’ve gotten older and while I am in great shape for my age the truth is most women see me around a 7 now. They are more difficult and rude in dating situations. They ghost more. I am held to a higher standard on my behavior on the first date.

I don’t expect everything to be willy nilly easy like it was when I was 25. But the fact that: “first impression (looks) = likeability = respect” is depressing.

In many places in the world, it has become very common for girls and women to wear clothes that show skin or accentuate their figure. Off the top of my head, I can think of short and tight shorts, dresses, yoga pants, crop tops, and other fancy female clothes that show shoulders, stomach, cleave, back or wraps around hips and ass.

Personally, as a guy, I think such clothes can look everything from cool/stylish, pretty, and sexy, to trashy. I guess much of it depends on the personality of the girl too, but revealing and or tight clothes can be very aesthetic, especially if it's worn in combination with or interesting clothes (which, in contrast, covers a lot) or unaesthetic.

Have you ever seen such clothes that looked good on guy, or do you think that such clothes, emphasizing the male figure, could potentially be aesthetic, or even sexy, on a guy (regardless of a sexuality)? Could masculine clothes be revealing, or could even certain female revealing and or tight clothes be attractive on a guy?

I have an opportunity to marry a younger woman who has an excellent personality and is a very hard worker. We have been friends with for a few years now. It was her idea is purely for economical reasons. It would benefit us both.

But I am not in love with her and she knows that. She said she doesn’t care if I date and sleep with other people. This would be a paper marriage.

I have gotten advice for a few trusted people about this. All but one person said it’s a bad idea. I am leaning towards no myself but besides the economical arrangement a part of me wonders if I’ll ever find an ideal partner given my age.

Ever since I hit 36 (in my early 40s now) my dating life has been hell on earth trying to find a truly decent woman I feel attracted to. I have had a few flings with attractive women who would make horrible wives. I tried dating a girl who i felt so so about physically just for her personality. That slowly got agonizing. I ended up breaking up with her and that ended very badly (she went psycho).

However of me just WANTS this life milestone. But I don’t want to be an adulterer. Even though she understands I might date other woman I do have spiritual beliefs. Oddly the Bible doesn’t say anything direct about premarital sex (but it heavily implied that’s not alright). But it is VERY clear about adultery. I wouldn’t feel comfortable cheating on my wife. Even if it really is a paper marriage and it doesn’t sit well with me.
