My wife and I have been struggling financially for a while, which led us to move every year, trying to save money and make ends meet in our hometown. Eventually, we decided to leave the state and move to Florida, where the cost of living was more affordable. However, I can’t stand it here. The humidity, poor infrastructure, hurricanes, traffic, mosquitoes, flat terrain, and lack of outdoor activities really get to me. I’m an outdoorsy person who loves hiking, cycling, and just being outside, and Florida just doesn’t offer the lifestyle I enjoy.

Now that my wife is pregnant, I’ve been thinking about moving to Colorado. It’s similar in cost to Florida but offers so much more in terms of outdoor activities and scenery. Unfortunately, every time I bring it up, my wife gets upset. She’s exhausted from all the moving we’ve done over the years and wants stability. Her mom lives here in Florida, but she doesn’t really go out much and would even charge us for any help with the baby.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like I’m sinking into depression and hopelessness after living this way for nearly four years. I’m about to finish grad school, and our income will improve significantly, which will get us in a better neighborhood in FL or CO, but I’m struggling to see a way forward that works for both of us.

POTUS-elect Donald J. Trump said on Monday that he would impose a 25% tariff on ALL products coming into the USA from Canada & Mexico his 1st day, a move that would cause chaos with North American supply chains and impose heavy costs on businesses & consumers around the continent. He further said he would levy the tariff by executive order until drugs & migrants stopped coming over the border.

“Both Mexico & Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem,” he added. “We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!”

In a separate post, Mr. Trump also threatened an additional 10% tariff on ALL products from China.

“Representatives of China told me that they would institute their maximum penalty, that of death, for any drug dealers caught doing this but, unfortunately, they never followed through, and drugs are pouring into our Country, mostly through Mexico, at levels never seen before,” he said.

The tariffs would have dramatic implications for American industries, including auto manufacturers, farmers and food packagers, which busily ship parts, materials and finished goods across U. S. borders.

The costs could be particularly high for the industries that depend on an integrated North American market. Adding 25% to the price of imported products could make many too costly, potentially crippling trade around the continent. That in turn could cause spiking surges of inflation and shortages for consumers in the United States.

Mr. Trump made even more aggressive tariff threats during campaign, including suggesting that he would impose a levy of 60% or more on Chinese goods & tariffs of 10-20% on those from other countries.

Mexico, China & Canada are America’s 3 largest trading partners, gobbling up $830 billion of US exports in 2022.

I think it was a very irresponsible and stupid decision for president Biden to take. It is not going to make any significant military difference for Ukraine. But it does make a hell of a lot of a difference in steering things up even further, provoking escalation, and bringing the world that one inch closer to a third world war. It seems to me that Mr. Biden made this decision so that he could do something, the last thing perhaps before he leaves office for good. A looser move based on anger and his inability to accept his decline. He deserves to go to jail for this. Imagine if it is a catalyst to initiate a nuclear war! Imagine the damage. He should not have been even thinking about such a thing let alone do it.
