Some people say it's hidden racism.

Some people say it's culture (people with different race/ethnic background can have the same culture and pretty much experience the SAME things or similar!).

Some people say it's because they are scared of what their parents/family would say if they dated someone outside their race.

What do you really think it is? And does it disappoint you or frustrate your or make you angry sometimes like it does for me? I mean, it's not like I can CONTROL what ethnicity/race I was born with!

It's just something I noticed in recent years, weirdly enough, versus back in the 2000's, 2010's or older!

I don't really get involved in politics, inequalities nor anyone's struggles but I got curious recently and was shocked.

I've noticed a couple on other sites and even 2 male cousins were complaining about these group of women. One of my cousin got disappointed with a Mexican girl. He thought she was different but she's been raised in New Jersey since she was an 18 month-old baby and he referred to her as a coconut, no traditional values in her, nothing of unique culture (she couldn't cook anything and even brag about it), none. In his own words he said ''she's been contaminated''.
Someone else said something similar about a Japanese-American girl, born in US but both parents from Japan.

I thought we have it hard in the dating world but wow their increasing complains over the years are alarming. Is it really that bad for guys? I find that hard to believe.

My boyfriend thinks I'm a rare gem that's been hidden. Is my combination rare?

- Non-religious latina (agnostic leading towards atheism)
- Childless in my 30's but yes we do want one child at least
- He's my 2nd boyfriend (my 1st relationship was terrible) but we haven't done it yet. I'm low count.
- I've never done cohabitation. It's either dating separately or only live together if engaged or married.
- Not a hot-tempered. I rarely get upset unless it's serious or you really wrong me badly.
- I don't believe in spanking kids. Hitting solves nothing. I find it lazy parenting.
- I love cooking and martial arts equally. Both are my passion and hobbies.
- I'm partially Westernized but hold some traditional values; 50/50
