It's often that you'll hear people say to "never settle" when it comes to dating. People also criticize others for being too picky--like telling a friend that they're pushing away great people over a long checklist of qualifications.

So my question to you is: what should we do? should we settle for someone who doesn't meet our original expectation for a boyfriend/girfriend/spouse, or should we wait it out and hope for that special someone that we've always imagined to come along?

Just as some thoughts:

Merits to settling include: making it easier to get into a nice relationship. Giving an ordinarily overlooked persona a chance, and breaking the trend of leaving "average" people alone and dsingle, in favor of clamoring after the people that everyone else already likes.

Merits to never settling include preventing a relationship with a dissatisfying partner, avoiding regrets in your relationship, and being absolutely certain that your choice of partner was the best.

Because women generally speaking are not able to build houses, and so its unfair that they end up owning a house. Sometimes they shrewdly end up winning the house, and kick their partner out (married or unmarried)? And it all starts with love, smiles, and what not you know.

What the fuck, when will we men take a stand and show them who fucks who?

I do not advocate violence against women. That I disagree with. But observing how heartless they can be, how treacherous, worse then the devil perhaps, makes me think along these lines. Because they cannot be trusted. You give them your little finger and they will take your whole hand. You give in at first because you soften your heart, and then later they will show you their true colors, when the opportunity comes. When you are completely inside the trap, and there is no way back. When they feel in a position so strong that they don't need you anymore, but instead seek to get rid of you. Such position which they have manipulated to be in, with lies, and hiding their true intentions deep inside their frozen hearts.

These are the ways to deal with them. But we must be all together. Solid as a rock. So that they have no one to turn to.

I feel like this is pretty obvious but the best examples of healthy relationships come from the couples I know where the women is willing to contribute the same if not more depending on the current situations.

1 - I have friend who bought a house with his partner almost 2 years ago, his girlfriend paid more for the downpayment and is paying more for the mortgage right now because she is further along in her career and is making more money consistently then he is. They worked out a deal where he will eventually pay more for the mortgage & contribute more when his career eventually takes off.

2 - I have a friend on the verge of getting married and he had to move in with his wife to be sooner than expected because his work & student visa got screwed up at the end of 2021, since then he has been living with his girlfriend and she has been taking care of him financially until he gets full citizenship & is able to work.

Based off of those and other examples, I've notice that the 50/50 & the give/take method of a relationship works the best.

What are your thoughts?

Me and my ex had small arguments which were more like simple disagreements caused by me acting dumb such as saying that democrats were fabricating Covid to step on people's freedom when we were frustrated that she couldn't fly in to see me.

She was a bit annoyed with me, understandably so and I apologized afterwards. Other than that, the only drama we had was with her disapproving family members being hard on her. As for my current relationship, we've only had one incident that could be considered an argument which was when I'd contacted a cousin of hers and told him that me and her were together as I'd grown impatient over her not telling her family due to fear that her mother, who's very sick, would throw her out (she's in law school and works part time) because she's absolutely insane with how protective she is with her.

I told her the whole truth about who I'd contacted but only got a response from one person whom I explained our relationship to and even got approval from. I apologized to her and went in depth as to why I was sorry and she forgave me. Besides that, we've never had any arguments at all, not even a disagreement. We're a great match and I'm very thankful that we can both be genuine with eachother and somehow no conflict arises from it.

I think a big part of why we get along so well beyond how similar we are to eachother is how from day 1, we've told the whole truth and nothing but the truth to eachother and trust eachother greatly. Do you and your partner fight?
