A few years ago I met a guy on bumble and got along really well. Due to my insecurities I refused to go on a date with him and we kept texting every day for about a year and oftentimes chatted for hours. At one point he told me he had to cut me off because he liked me too much to just keep me as a virtual friend or "pen pal" so he blocked me.

Do you think he lied or is it possible?

I've once heard someone mocking a man for these reasons. That jerk was one of those people that goes with along with the mantra of men always having to be strong, suck it up and be a man. Personally I think these are valid ones. Would you say these are good reason for a man to really cry? What do you think?

- His long-term girlfriend said no to his marriage proposal. There were no issues in the relationship, all was good but she only wants him as a boyfriend, misled him, gave him false hope.

- A serious ilness in the family and he's overwhelmed with too much in his life that he can't bottle it up anymore and breaks down in tears, letting it all out for once.

- He finds out that as a result of a medical condition or genetic mutation, he'll never be able to father a child ever. I knew someone like that. He sat down, pulled his shirt over his head and literally broke down in tears.
