Coworker who’s on my team and who sits near me and i got into argument at work, after the argument she wouldn’t talk to me just stare constantly and get mad when i talked to other female co coworkers, a few months later we both apologized so all was good, but for some reason the staring continued and when I tried to talk to her she was cold and short with me. A few days later, i was out of office for my birthday, instead of her saying happy birthday or simply not saying anything at all, she was viewing my LinkedIn but didn't say anything. Even though if she had any professional questions she could just ask me, as she sits right near me, and has the same exact job I do, we see each other daily. So there's no professional reason to lurk on my account when I’m out of office, people at work think she’s obsessed and they think her behavior is weird and concerning. After a few days, i blocked her because it felt creepy and inappropriate to do this with a co worker. After i blocked her she avoids me entirely and doesn’t even stare at me anymore, when we are near each other it’s just awkward silence. So I want to know if people on here also think she’s being weird or if this normal and I’m overthinking things?

Surely that thing in 2022, is basically etched into everyone's minds who has a television or a smartphone, or had a television or a smart phone then, and or watched the broadcast - live or on repeat - anyways 😞 😕

It's still fresh in my mind here in 2025, almost three years/four years later - and I didn't even get slapped 😛🤗 crikey.

I have known my friend Rich since 3rd grade. We grew up together but took different career paths. I went to college and got a degree in business. I got an alright job, but nothing to get excited about. Rich screwed around. He took the first job that was offered to him as a favor from a friend. He hated it and complained every day. By his own admission, he was terrible and close to being fired a few times. He did the bare minimum and cut corners whenever possible. He was also one foot out the door always. Then a different company was in desperate need of a logistics manager, and they did not know his work ethic. All they knew was he had enough experience, and he knew all the lingo to ace the job interview. By his own admission, he conned them into believing he was something he isn't.
I was happy 4 him. I believed he would straighten up, and it would be good for him. He didn't change and was a terrible manager, his words. He would talk badly about his employees to me and curse them for doing things he would do himself. He would hide and sleep on the job or get caught up on Netflix, or take an hour of work and turn it into his whole day. Still, he complained constantly and talked about how bad the company is. He felt justified because they were terrible in his eyes. He also constantly complained about leaving.
Now, he has lucked into the same opportunity. A new company is looking for a senior logistics manager, and he fits their needs based on his experience and his LinkedIn profile, which is made entirely of lies. He was just talking about quitting and, and now he is acting like he is a prestigious senior manager. He admits that this is undeserving, but he will still expect me to make a big deal of it and take him out for a drink. I don't think he at all deserves this, and I am kind of disgusted that he keeps lucking into these promotions. But what are my options? Do I have to just pretend to be happy for him, or can I get away with just a congratulations and drop it?

I noticed over the years that women bring up height excessively more then men do. They not only talk about height in romantic scenarios but with platonic / professional interactions with men as well.

But every time women mentions a man being short, it’s almost always a negative connotation. Even if they like the short guy they will say something like “well he’s not very tall but he’s really cute or funny” or something.

But if a girl doesn’t something else about the short guy (his personality, looks, etc.) they virtually always bring up his height. Especially if they reject the man romantically.

But at the same time guys are less prone to say “well she’s really sweet & cool despite being overweight” out loud. We might be thinking that but we are not allowed by modern culture to say that because it’s “too mean” or something.

I am 6ft so fortunately height isn’t an issue for me. Like anyone I notice other people’s heights in most situations but I don’t immediately factor that into my judgment of people.

I once dated a girl who was 5’ 11’’. Despite my favorite female body type being cute, petite and athletic, her being tall and skinny was virtually a non issue for me. It did make things slightly more complex in bed (shorter girls are more versatile) But I didn’t really care that much. It was like factor number 37 out of 50 for me.

Also I don’t notice height at all in platonic and professional interactions with women or men. I don’t asume a really short guy or a really tall girl might have a negative personality right away. Some short guys do have napoleon syndromes. I’ve met a few short loud mouthed dbags. But overall that stereotype is often exaggerated.

I guess height judgment is evolutionary for females. But women need to understand that men have no control over their height whatsoever.

If you are more attracted to taller men then fine. But if you don’t like a shorter guy than don’t throw out his height as one of his “faults” like he had a choice in the matter.
