My boyfriend told me that because he grew up with his father, he is a difficult person to live with and he tries to be nothing like him (jealous, thinks he is always right, selfish, moody). He likes to control everybody's life, asking many questions about the simplest things, always trying to find the bad and negative things everywhere. My boyfriend is a very down to earth person he doesn't let anything get to him or destroy his mood and thats a characteristic that makes his father even angrier when he tries to argue with him about stuff that he doesn't agree with. Today I got upset because my boyfriend and his father were alone and they started talking about me, he was asking my boyfriend if he is truly happy with me, that he doesn't like how I speak with my boyfriend and I'm too rude and always look angry and mad with my boyfriend. My boyfriend defended me and said that I'm only rude or shout when he annoys me and that he likes annoying me and he is really happy with me and we are doing great, but his father continued saying that that's not what he sees and that I have to control myself and not be rude. I'll admit I'm not a saint I do get annoyed easily and I can speak in a higher tone with my boyfriend sometimes when he does annoying stuff and only when I speak louder does he listen, but that's something that my boyfriend knows about me and he doesn't get offended about it. Am I an asshole for feeling angry with his father, I don't like people getting involved In our relationship when we are doing so great and we didn't ask for any advice. I feel like his questions were not out of interest for my boyfriends future or out of love, I feel like he wanted to make my boyfriend feel that I'm not good enough, I don't know how to explain it.

I got a lot of different replies so i did a poll.

Basically he is everything I've ever wanted but he's very close to his best friend. She has an amazing body angelic face and great personality. She makes me insecure.

1. Before we started going out she basically lived with him. They both have there own penthouses but she would cuddle with him in bed while wearing his shirt every night (They stopped this after we stated going out)

2. He greets her by calling her Babygirl, Kitten, Princess while back hugging her. He gives her piggyback rides and randomly picks her up sometimes.

3. When he is drunk she is usually all he talks about or he call/text her

4. When he goes back home to visit his parents she comes along. She is basically a part of his family

5. He has her period schedule on his calendar. He says he keeps track for her because she always forgets to write it on her calendar. He also does it so he can prepare snacks and ice cream, movies to watch, and music to listen to. He makes sure she has pads and tampons and if she has run out he will buy some for her. He is really organized and she is kind of go with the flow and doesn’t prepare for things, so he does it for her. He sometimes even builds a blanket fort for them to watch movies. He does all of this to distract her from the pain. When it’s really bad he plays with her hair and sings her to sleep. He also buys her “period prizes”. Apparently her mother used to buy her gifts when she wasn’t feeling good, so he took over and started buying her a present whenever she doesn’t feel good.)

6. I walked in on him moaning and her straddling his bare back as she massaged him in his bed. (She saw me and offered to do me next)

7. He has also canceled some of our dates when she wasn’t feeling well or was upset. She never asks him to do anything for her but he always runs. And he will do literally anything to put a smile on her face when she is upset, no matter how stupid it makes him look.

I can relate with this, it's could ruin your mental and emotional health. 2 years ago, I was numb of my job coz I don't like the environment and my boss. Plus, the salary wasn't good enough. It's often delays. It was hard for me to resign due to my situation. I'm scared tbh. I'm concern about my mental health due to numbness. I don't feel alive, motivated and productive. My hobbies can't make me happy anymore. I was in the phase that i lose interest of life. Im jusy waiting for death to come.

It's not because I don't appreciate my life.. I just dont feel satisfied, i am looking for something and that is personal growth.

I'm still in government working. I'm still stuck in my boring job. But I'm feeling better now due to self-help books. I've been thinking to learn a new skill and that is computer skills. I've been thinking to change my career, that new career I'm planing to is a great challenge for me and I accept that challenge. I know it's scary but I can feel the thrill!
