Short Women: Be proud of your height

As seen a lot of time before on GAG (and in general too), short women sometimes feel insecure about their heights; most especially when guys often mention in their opinions that they have a huge preference on taller women..but.....

WHY CAN'T WE ACCEPT OURSELVES AS WE ARE?

Being short surely has got its disadvantages like;

1. Looking too short next to your taller friends

2. Being unable to reach top shelves :(

3. Sometimes people make fun of your height (happened to be before)

BUT....being short has got its advantages too ^_^ :

1. We look cuter due to our height

2. We can look younger than our actual age

3. Short dresses look fine on us

4. "Some guys" prefer us shorter

5. We can wear really high heels

Just accept yourselves as your are!

Uh pretty sure this almost never is the case. I've been here a while and the majority of guys definitely prefer shorter girls.

I'm 5'3". I'm not as short as I could be but around here, I almost always feel short. The people in this area are generally fairly tall. Most of my family is pretty tall, my friends are all growing (I was an early bloomer. I grew LOTS a couple years ago. Now everyone else seems to be growing and I haven't grown but an inch in the past year), my boyfriend is nine inches taller than me and his whole family is just big built and tall, plus I have a very hard time finding jeans that aren't as long as I am tall.

My boyfriend and his family make me like being short, though. We joke about it and he makes me feel like I'm a cute little woman. I honestly enjoy being short sometimes. It's also an excuse to have other people do things for me if I'm too small. Also, I'm very picky about clothing. When I'm looking for dresses, it's nice to not have to worry so much about length because even a short dress can be long enough for me (although I always have to get long dresses altered to be about five inches shorter...).

I feel like I'm probably done growing at least mostly. I might have an inch of two left but that's only if I'm lucky. I haven't gotten much taller AT ALL in over a year. I'm still wearing long pants from last year and they're still a good length on me. Not too short.

I agree with all of them because i'm 5'1" was just 5'0" last year, lol. A lot of times in stores I have to climb the shelves and stuff. With shoes they just have to put the only shoe I like in my sizes at the very top. So I end up having to grab a larger shoe to help me knock down the box holding the shoes I want and jumping. So far that trick works everytime, lol.

I'm 5'2", people say I'm super short but honestly I don't notice it. I think my big personality makes up for my loss of height lol. It's something to worry about at all.

Most guys prefer girls that are shorter than they are. Just like most women prefer guys that are taller than them. Short girls benefit from this for the simple fact that most guys are going to be taller than them because they are short. Even when the guy is short he is still going to be taller than she is because she is short. A short girl complaining about the disadvantages of being short is like a tall guy complaining about the disadvantages of being tall. If a girl feels insecure because she's short, then I can see how this take may help them, however, I completely disagree that most people like taller girls than shorter girls.

I've always felt insecure about my short height. 5 feet tall. I wish I was at least 5 feet 1. All my friends are taller than me, but not by a huge gap, although two of them are like almost a head taller. It's even "worse" because they all like wearing high heels and are like girly and I'm a tomboy-ish kinda girl. Well I wouldn't mind trying to dress up once in a while if I didn't have meatloaf thighs or a blubber stomach and wasn't so hairy but I'm working on all that shit. xD My friends always say "Why are you so short?", not in a mean way, but in a teasing way, but it's still annoying because they say it too much. -.-

All the guys like short girls & they are so cute! I was 5'4 when I was 10, and now currently 5'8 1/2 and 14. Be happy that you're short! I've always been tall, and when I'm with my friends, I look like one of their older siblings that's only their to supervise them (which is stupid 'cause we're all 14/15).

Most guys prefer girls who are short and cute. That's the cold hard truth that every tall girl learns when she starts dating. So I disagree with you there. Even short guys want girls who are shorter than them.

Actually, I can't really get on board with anything you say here to be honest, except maybe #3 because people always bullied me about my height in high school. I used to always wish I was shorter. Now I've just accepted it. I like but sometimes I hate it.

I like being short, but it's subjective. Other people say I'm not short while others say I am. Either way I have tall people fetch things for me and I like that :) or I get to climb up stuff, also don't bang my head on things as often.

Tall girls think guys go after short girls, and short girls think guys go after tall girls. lol You girls will always find a way to feel bad about your bodies.

On average most guys prefer shorter girls not taller girls, but even then height isn't as big of a deal for men as it is for women. In most cases this is a minor preference that men have, whereas for a lot of women height is more of a requirement.

To be honest that is sexy. Let me try to put this is perspective to you. Hollywood tells you that you have to be tall right? SO let me ask you this, how do tall women date taller men? The fashion industry is so unilateral because it only cares about what men perceive as beautiful. I personally don't like women being taller than me and I am 5'11. I tried dating a model and her height was 6 ft but it was too much for me to handle because I couldn't see her as feminine. I know that it sounds awful but it is no different that short men being viewed as less masculine. The average man in america, where i live, is 5'9, so if the average female model is 5'9 as well then how does she go out on a date when she is wearing heels? THAT IS SUCH A HUGE double standard. Many men love short women because it makes us feel manly.

@Person100 In defence of taller girls, I'm sure there are men out there who don't mind dating tall girls. It's not like those girls can really do anything about it at all (at least short girls can wear heels). I honestly have more respect for tall girls who are comfortable with their height, then short girls.

I have seen probably 15 of these takes in the last week, so I have to ask, why? Is there really this sweeping phenomenon of self hate going on for anyone who has a vagina and isn't tell? Because from most of these that I've seen, the complaint isn't
"I'm short", it's "I'm not tall".

People have different tastes, and worrying about someone who wouldn't want to be with you because you are missing an inch or two of height makes me wonder why you think they are worth worrying over.
