Finding your inner voice: Part 2

Continued from part 1: Finding your inner voice

There are four phases that one must pass to becoming free of fears and getting into flow with
their authentic self / inner voice

1. Wake up calls

Finding your inner voice: Part 2

Ever felt you are being woken up after experiencing a highly unexpected upsetting
crisis such as being in a horrific accident, getting a serious illness or losing
a loved one or suddenly being rejected by someone we love? These crises are here to
force us to look inward and deeper than we are accustomed to, for guidance, reassurance,
grounding, and new direction.

2. Going deep

Finding your inner voice: Part 2

The second step in following our intuition is fueled by our curiosity. We would usually enter
this phase after experiencing a wake up call, yet we still feel hesitant to trust further.
You will begin to search for evidence that following your intuition is a sound and right choice
for you.

3. Taking a leap of faith

Finding your inner voice: Part 2

This phase involves following your intuition and trusting your choices without thinking about
it anymore. This means moving beyond the parameters and perceived safety of your ego and relying on the mysterious, unlimited power of your inner voice for guidance. For some,
taking this leap feels like walking into the darkness, not knowing where to go.

4. Entering the state of Flow

Finding your inner voice: Part 2

Once you enter the 'flow', your ego steps aside and allows Spirit to completely take over.
You place complete trust in the Universe to take care of you in every circumstance and
situation , you encounter. You can expect assistance with every problem or challenge that
arises, and you will receive it.

Stepping up and keeping with the flow

1. Patience
Be patient as you learn to tune in to your intuition for guidance. It may seem elusive at first, but one day and it may be sooner than you think,

2. Be honest
The most significant and necessary challenge, you will face when tuning in to your intuition is to be completely honest with yourself and others.

This isn't necessarily easy for those who have been socially conditioned to hide, supress or ignore their truthful feelings all their lives.

3. Write it down in a journal
Writing on a regular basis rather than reflecting it in your head will open up the true colours of your feelings.

4. Daily rituals
Develop a creative impulse that could be as simple as doodling in a sketchbook for five minutes each day or as ambitious as signing up a foreign language class.

5. Give things a chance
Take your time as you move from fear to flow. Implement at least one of the daily practices or simple rituals and give it a fair chance to work.

Start practicing twice or three times a week. If you have a positive experience,
continue the practice for a week, then more.

We don't change overnight even if we want to. Studies show that it takes about 40 days for a new habit to develop and become part of your life, so keep the 40 day goal in mind.

6. See everyday as a brand new day
If we make it our habit to tap into our greatest inner resource, our guiding Spirit, we start to experience life in a suprisingly new way.

If we don't, we may enjoy an intuitive moment or two, but remain more often than trapped by fear and mired in all the muck that comes with fear, such as anxiety, guilt, shame, flattery, bullying being bullied, depression and whatever else the ego resorts to when it feels threatened.

7. Making the shift
You must want to make this shift so intensely, that you are willing to rearrange your priorities a little, examine and change your beliefs, one at a time as needed, patiently implement new habits and behaviours and allow your Spirit to influence you on a daily basis.

Trusting and following your spirit over your fears is a huge shift for most people and takes more than a mental decision to fully embody.
