Is it odd I don't mind "womanly, sissy guys"
Weird I actually know a guy like that he was nice, but the complaints never ended..
Anyways manly or not manly don't matter to me. Both have pros and cons...
Thanks for writing this. People seem to forget that men have feelings too. It's always "Man up!" "Take it like a man!" "Stop crying, are you a little baby?"
We are also human.
Crying is for sissies.
Crying is showing weakness.
The only person you should cry in front of is yourself.
Same goes for anger.
If you cannot control your tears and your anger, you fail at self control.
Jesus fucking Christ dude...
@ThisDudeHere
Plays the agree to disagree card.
Stale mate
i can control both actually , in fact i think some people are annoyed that i can not be angry lol
@CoolSky01 doesn't it feel good tot see them try their hardest to make you? XD

Look, not caring doesn't mean bottling up your feelings. It just means expressing your feelings in some other way instead of anger and crying.
You won't become a nut job if you don't cry, you will become a nut job if you are emotionally repressed.
And crying is a sign of a weak, it doesn't take your masculinity away from you, but given a choice if you wanna be strong or weak, I'll almost always choose the former.
Crying*
it does yeah, i mean if its nothing to be mad about why get mad?
I'm sure it's not healthy to repress your emotions but you can't really express your emotions at work or school because you're only as good as your productivity. It's essentially mandatory to not feel anything at most jobs and schools.
Yeah, but schools and workplaces are (mostly) made up of people who can feel and empathise. While you're expected not to carry your baggage to work/ school, no decent person would expect you to be at the top of your game all the time. Especially if you're going through tough times.
I hate this stereotype so much. Crying doesn't make somebody weak. If crying was an exclusively female thing men wouldn't have tear ducts too
I dont cry, I forgot to cry. someone destroyed me inside out. she ripped apart my heart and just crushed me whole. I dont cry because I dont feel anymore pain. I can be laughed at in the face, called ugly, even sucker punched.
Your title itself is completely outdated. This is certainly not the case in western culture.
Try refocusing on my actual point of this article rather than a title that does not reflect my point of view.
Good point. I still think though men are not being taught by society ( at least in current western society ) that feeling emotional is a sign on weakness as stated in your first point.
Another aspect is consider how women are viewed as emotional. Terms like crazy, psycho, bitches be crazy etc...
But I understand that isn't what your article is about. A good article but would have like to have seen a countered point of view.
After hearing your my take I think we should get married😂
Men should not cry, at least not in front of their loved ones. Usually men must be a pillar for their family, he is the strength, and the shoulder to lean on in hard times.
But what if you don't want to fill that role?
@Harpesian As a husband and father that is your role. If you don't fulfill it, you won't make a good husband or father.
Okay. Guess I'll never be a good husband or father lol.
@Harpesian excellent choice. flawless victory.
Suppose I asked myself the same question you did, "What image would I like to project to people I am in contact with on a everyday basis? Is that someone that is perceived as weak, or someone that seems tough and has it altogether?"
Strangely enough, my natural inclination is to want to be perceived as weak, ESPECIALLY if the other option is "tough".
Nope. Emotionally vacant bad-ass is just the way I like it, to be honest.
My emotions are private, so I'm only going to cry when I am by myself.
The math involved in my tears is once every 7 years in August. At which time I lock myself away for 24 hours and turn off all tech except the Tv.
just in another thread it was determined that guys express themselves just as much as women but in other ways. thus we're equally emotional.
I personally believe that there is nothing wrong if men cry, they are expressing their feelings which is healthy for anyone to do.
It's okay if men cry over fatal cirumstances for example if their father died. But we men don't cry or complain over little tiny things like female rights like feminist pigs do. If men act like women, then yes, that would be weak like women.
@betramm
"If men act like women"
"weak like women"
Your mother would be saddened by your sexist and directly misogynistic remarks.
@Mesonfielde it's nothing like that some men think it's to cry while others think just the opposite of that and that is just fine. it all just depends on there personal preference.
@betramm That is my point thank you
Society teaches boys not to cry or show their feelings, then they act surprised when some men act heartless.
no guys don't cry as much because they have too much testosterone flowing through their veins.
Do you really think testosterone is the only reason?
absolutely!! men are made differently
I can agree with on that , but that's definitely not the only reason however.
No, it means you have a heart, and you never know what people are going through behind their eyes

My only uncle never cried, as he as my aunts and mother were taught not to express their feelings. Grandma was a hitwoman, so when she got pregnant she taught her children to be as she was.
I do cry once in a while. It's only the old school blue collar guys that thinks it's bad for a guy to cry.
