There was this quote I once read. I believe it went, "Your first thought is what society wants you to think. Your second thought is your own belief." Something of that nature.

That's the way a lot of people tend to think, some just dont have filters.

For example, if you see a girl with blue eye shadow (a big no-no) most of the time girls will think "Ew wtf is she doing?" then girls will think "She just probably doesn't know how to do make up/whats ok/new to this etc". The second thought is more accepting than the first.

But what we may say is something along the lines of trying to help her choose eyeshadow color and what to do/not to do.

It's the way you act and what you say that matters.

Do you support Trump? I personally don't but I can see why people would.

I won't dislike you for liking Trump if you can back up why wth logical facts and reasoning.

But this isn't a political take.

Everyone's an asshole.

Just be nice to everyone.
EVERYONE.

Regardless of race, age, gender, wealth, sexual orientation etc.

We're all human aren't we?

Yes some of us may be more intelligent, or funny or talented.

We all have our differences.
But who's to tell us what's right and wrong to think or do?

I'm not telling you what to do but life would be so much better...easier...happier if we all got along.

Yes I agree with the premise of the take - I am a firm believer in processing things and analysing things - It sounds like a long convoluted thing but the mind works at the speed of light so it takes no time - I am not saying being false and manufactured but just think about what you are saying.
Okay I will show it in a GaG example, there is a question I have gained 15lbs and I think I am fat, am I fat? - There is a picture of a very slim girl - Your natural first thought is catfish or attention whore so before you deliver a truth bomb you read the details - I was hospitalised with anorexia 18 months ago, my counsellors and doctors say my weight gain is healthy but I am not too sure - So how you phrase your answer becomes much more problematic and important.
Life won't always throw up such extreme examples but it is a principle that I try to go by - There is no harm letting your first thought go by, move on to the second/third thought who knows you may return to the first thought and say that but at least you considered the other thoughts.

Yeah pretty much we all try to rationalize our behavior I could murder someone right now and still sleep at night cause if you make me feel like a bad person I could just say well the president has murdered people too so why can't I? And society has negative and positive adjectives for the same exact thing, but when doing it in a different way or situation. Like when you go to war and kill a bunch of people you're not a murderer anymore you're a war hero. The gov commits terrorism and its not terrorism when a person not working for gov does it its terrorism. When a woman has lots of sex she is a slut, when a man dose it he is a player he is cool. When a man saves a bunch of people's lives from a fire its not empowering, when a woman farts in public its empowering. When you are taking a drug for an illness or just to relieve pain from a surgery its not a drug its "medicine" when you take a drug that's not legal and just for the pleasure then its a drug. And I could go on and on but you get the point.

I think you are up against some deep seated instincts. Just as if you want a well behaved dog you have to show it you are dominant by doing the things dogs associate with dominance people generally only work together when someone takes charge and we only accept a leader if he shows characteristics of being dominant, which are largely those of an asshole. Assholes are failed leaders, leaders are successful assholes.

The people who like Trump are willing to accept him as a leader, to those who aren't he is an arch-asshole and they can't fathom how anyone could not see that. It's all about an instinctive switch in your head.
