Are you an Asshole? Why or Why not?

I always wonder about the people in my life that claim I'm not an Asshole. I've been telling everyone ever since I can remember that I am indeed an Asshole. Some have thought it was my way of protecting myself from anyone getting too close to me. Those that try are always shocked when they find it's true and I have not lied about it. Others more honest with their judgements have seen it and accepted me for being the Asshole I am. They know trying to get to know me is like trying to pet a Badger. I will piss them off some how but how much I piss them off is up to them.

I will use what you're most sensitive about against you partially in jest, but only you for the first few days. After that I will say it publicly around you. If you're not able to adapt to it by then, I bid you farewell because you are not tough enough to handle this life. I will not waste my life wrapping you in bubble wrap and dousing you in sugar. I refuse to placate with others.

To most people I'm not. So I can confidently say that I'm mostly not an asshole. However, I cannot say that I am completely not an asshole since being an asshole at all is based on someone's subjective opinion of us. And it's not hard to form a subjective opinion. The opinion doesn't even have to be well -grounded. If a person feels it, they can deem it & we just have to deal with it.

I try not to be an asshole, that’s a privilege dedicated to certain friends that I know won’t take it too hard. I don’t come out the gate flipping someone off, but I’ll flip off my bestie every day for the pettiest shit and we’ll both laugh about it. We also mock each other for various sensitivities and insecurities, but again we’ll both laugh about it. If I’m an asshole to someone, it’s because that’s the level of friendship we’ve reached. I don’t like hurting people.

Everybody has a tendency as well as potential to be an asshole. I can be an asshole many a times, most of the times deliberately when I am looking to piss someone off or just to tease them. Other times, I can be one unknowingly, in which case people end up hurting. But then I am sensitive enough to apologize and make up for it.

Several people who made false claims and got proven wrong have called me an asshole. I don't particularly feel like an asshole but if proving idiots wrong on their mental delusions makes me one than sure I am an asshole.

I am though I control what I say around most people because lots of people these days are soft so it's less drama if I don't speak freely.

As for why a mix of life and being a product of my current environment.
