As a naturally thin and healthy girl, I think I'll enjoy this take. *reads take* Yeah no, this is just you acting like skinny is the only thing that can be beautiful. Way to shame the other side and talk about how you are clearly everyone's ideal girl 😒. Echando te poras y actuando como si los que son diferentes son feos... No mamés.
Some not skinny people can be healthy too though. I'm not talking about morbidly obese people who have trouble walking, but somewhat heavier people. Also there are skinny people who are not healthy.
That woman on the second photo is not skinny. She's good form.
And personally I really get annoyed when some fat people act as if keeping a good shape is something that people do not struggle for. As if it comes naturally to all, and they do nothing to gain it.
If you wanna be fat, then be and be happy for it. But don't try to complain about people who aren't.
People group her and people alike as skinny/thin because those are the terms people use relatively to describe people who are not overweight. She is good formed and she nine times out of ten worked for what she has.
Thin and healthy are not synonyms. This is an absolutely foolish take and it is in no way clever nor inspiring. You really are contradicting yourself when first you say skinny people are being shamed but later you say they are what society deem as beautiful, which is it? You're honestly very full of yourself and this take has done nothing, but to fat shame and play out the body types against each other even further.
No, she is talking about how people are quick to judge how all thin people are anorexic/bulimic and hardly eat a thing when most of us eat like an elephant. Trust me, as a thin girl myself, I have had nutritionists referred to me and being surprised that I eat more than the nutritionist themselves. - Sincerely, eating potato chips with nutella as I type this.
If being proud of my healthy body is being full of myself, then Hell yeah. People who judge thin people and criticize them for being thin is skinny shaming. Yes thin may be the ideal image but there are people out there that don't like that fact for some reason and they hurl negative comments about thin people. You can't have one without the other. No fat shaming present.
It tastes really good though. Don't worry I still eat healthy... I just need my junk food. I sound like an entitled brat? My confidence level is below 0...
@helloitsmethere No the last part was not for you. Plus this girl is going on about how being thin is extremely healthy no matter what, and then you swoop in defending her by saying you eat crap, doesn't make sense.
I absolutely love this. People honestly don't realize how much shit thin women get for having healthy bodies. My mother has been accused of being a crack head, because according to the sniveling 500lb woman that called her such, "no one looks like that unless they're on drugs." I just don't understand why being healthy is suddenly unattractive.
It's not and there are people that do understand... But it doesn't seem like there are many people that understand that this issue should be eliminated altogether not swapped out by the other.
"Stop skinny shaming!" But fat same instead. That's what your take is about. "Sorry, not sorry that I'm not fat. Sorry, not sorry that thin/skinny is the ideal of beauty. I guess I can truly say this, Healthy = Beautiful." ... what an arrogant wonderful Person you are. Don't you know that skinny doesn't always mean healthy? If you could just stop obsessing over looks and training your brain instead...
Well then I'm not gonna apologize for being an attractive girl with meat on my bones. My body type may not be like the one shown on magazines or society's ideal, but I'm comfortable in my own skin. Fuck the media. And I can exercise without losing my breath and touch my toes. Lol.
i agree with what @ManOnFire said!! excuse me but i think curvy women are shamed more than skinny women >:( if you have a curvy built with fat in the right amount in the right place... you're called "fat"... and i think women are free to rock their assets or their features whether they are skinny or curvy or fat... its their lives !! look at the pic below!!! both are pretty in their own ways
@zombiebabe Right ON. I even hate that we use the term "plus size" to denote women with normal bodies. Women are naturally supposed to have some fat in their bodies, and part of that is because the female body retains more water as part of their reproductive system. And it looks good to me. Hell, I even created a community on Google+ last year (Sexy Plus Size Women) that gets good love to the pics I post up of plump honies like Ivy Doomkitty, Namitha, and Inna Kulin. And the community grows a little more every day. Now over 1,000 members.
Oh, cry me a river. I have yet to meet anyone who has a problem with skinny women. Try being plus sized in this world, honey. See how you like having men jeer at you for being overweight, with the attitude that you are less than human. I've never seen guys in a car purposely slow down to insult a slender women who is walking along. I'm sorry, you do not have my sympathy. Because plus size women fight a constant battle that no amount of makeup can cover up.
A LOT of people have an issue with skinny women lmaooo. Try seeing things from an underweight girl's perspective as well. You will also be jeered at and insulted, as you're viewed as less of a woman for not having curves, ass, and tits. Honestly any woman who is over or underweight is very often bullied and picked on.
I honestly don't get it when people who have the majorly favored body type feel so insecure and threatened by the body positivity in the opposite way. I mean, sure, people can be shitty in how they make themselves feel better... but you've got more than enough praise to gas you up for a lifetime girl lol.
I actually have a decent amount of curves but I still get a ton of shit for it. Just because the media is showing skinny in a good light doesn't mean it always is.
I believe any form of body shaming is bad. Also wanted to add that I can run for awhile without getting out of breath, I don't get stitches or dizzy when exercising for an hour, can touch my toes, and I can do the most push ups in my class as well as lift the most weight in it, yet I DO have a very good bmi, am in my weight range for my 5'2 self at 114 pounds (its 104-136 U. S Military Army standards), and I have a good fat and muscle percentage.
I completely agree with you. But not necessarily for aesthetic reasons. Encouraging people to have a healthy lifestyle would save the government from healthcare. Plus, true wealth is our health. We came out of our mother's wombs with nothing but our bodies, and it needs to be taken care of.
Once our bodies go awfully wrong, you won't be able to fully enjoy life. I'd rather have a mediocre/lower income but damn right healthy than be rich and sickly. Besides, if you're sickly anyways, you won't enjoy your money, you'd always be worrying about medications and what you can/cannot eat or do.
I'm 5'8 and weigh 115 lbs and I honestly can't even run for ONE minute without feeling like I'm about to throw up. So, that part of your article was BS. Just like the entire myTake. You seem pretty full of yourself. Skinny shaming is NOT the same as fat shaming! But other people on here already explained it, so I'll leave it at that.
"Being able to run without shortness of breath in the first few feet because of my weight is beautiful. Being able to jump is beautiful. Being able to touch my toes is beautiful. Being able to lift at least half my bodyweight is beautiful. Being able to survive in nature is beautiful, Etc, etc." Not being able to do any of these does not make someone not beautiful. And yes, indeed, health = beauty. So people who are healthy without exercise shouldn't feel bad about it. Additionally, everyone with a body, at the beach, is "beach body ready".
How does one be healthy without exercise? Not being able to run a mile nonstop (even if it is 11 minutes) or not being able to do at least 50 sit ups in one go and the like usually means that you aren't healthy. The more in shape you are while not being skinny unless that is naturally what you are meant to be, the healthier you are. The better the blood flow in your veins and etc.
@Grungenoreos 50 sit ups in one go? A mile non stop? You just called unhealthy a large percentage of the world population. Like, literally 50 percent of it.
No 50 sit ups is actually low. Lots of girls in my class can do 60-80 in one go and every girl in my class can run a mile nonstop (not including speed) which is very good.
But being in shape has a lot to do with how healthy you are. It improves metabolism, immune system, and decreases the amount of heart diseases you can get. Its not about being skinny or thick. Either one cna be healthy. Its not so much about weight. But physical activity is vital for the healthy body even if it is just twice a week.
I know plenty of non skinny girls that are athletic and sporty and eat good. I am not saying that being skinny equates being healthy. All I am saying is that exercising is very important for our health. Many do indeed get away with it but it is a proven fact that it does lots of good.
Of course they do. One musnt exercise to lose weight unless they are very badly obsese which is bad for the heart. Nothing wrong with having extra pounds at all. People take it too seriously. But I am an a supporter of exercise because its good for the heart. My teacher doesn't call suicides, "hearts" for no reason haha. I dont miss them though now that summer is here.
Excellent point... And also qa maybe you haven't realized but there's people that are hour size that can't do half the things you can while there are obese people that can.
Someone's size doesn't necessarily determine their physical capability.
@DivaMonae I know that lol I know people tjat are girls that are bigger than me that are stronger. Because peopl confuse size with how much fat you have. Some people can be large and appear fat but actually have a lot of muscle with fat.
@DivaMonae I was just trying to tell him that you are always healthier the more in shape you are. Its not about how you look. Thats not what i mean. But on average, you have a smaller risk of all kinds of health problems when you maintain a good degree of fitness. Not saying go all crazy and hardcore fitness but even just some sit ups, some walking, and stretching GOES A LONG WAY. Physical activity, even just a little, is very good for our bodies. I was just trying to point that out since he sounded like he was saying people cam be healthy without exercise. Anyone who is healhty without exercise has super genes because we all need some sort degree of fitness to be healthy. Most of todays diseases stem from lack of proper fitness, not necessarily from being bigger unless you are talking about very obese people
Lol... why can't we be happy with who we are why does anyone have to say one is more beautiful than another... why? People, People , People , true beauty comes from within and looks fade but if you are that beauty that comes from within nobody notices when they do Fade and they Do folks don't Kidd yourself... Please do understand bit girl I say embrace that which is loving and you!!! You are beautiful for being an advocate for those who are judged about their bodies... hugz I hope this is helpful... be well... love deeply... and laugh often. ... smile 🍀🐶🍀
Finally the voice of reason. You are just as ugly as your personality. Why not be physically beautiful and a beautiful person through out... Don't swap one out for the other.
@DivaMonae thank you so much for taking the time to reply , it means a lot to me... I find people are too hung up on the physical and not the whole person... hugz n smiles..🍀🐶🍀
Play you had me and then you lost me. I thought you were going to say that putting someone down at your own expense isn't right and skinny shaming isn't right because over weight/obese people are doing it to feel better about their self...
But you're just as bad. You're right to a certain degree healthy is beautiful but beautiful is also subjective. You can be skinny or healthy but your face may not math so HEALTHY certainly doesn't= BEAUTIFUL. Fat could equal beautiful if you're still attractive besides he wiehgt and then beauty is also more than skin deep so please don't say that healthy=beauty cause you or anyone could be a cruel cold hearted person and that certainly isn't beautiful.
So yeah don't feel bad for being skinny love your body and who you are but don't be a hypocrote -__-
Being able to run without shortness of breath, touch my toes, and lift half my body weight? Speak for yourself I weigh a hundred pounds and am 5 foot 2 and can't do any of the above.
Let me get this straight - our entire western culture idealizes thin people, inundates us constantly with images, videos, television shows and movies with thin people, equates being in shape with superior intellect and personality... yet somehow you think you're being persecuted?
Yes because there are people who don't like us because of that. Bullying and rude comments and put downs because of our body type. It does and has happened. Enough is enough.
Maybe you haven't experienced it or noticed it, but it's fairly common. There isn't much political correct social rules against it. I think she's trying to bring awareness.
@cavmanier omg yes I experience the opposite side of the fat-skinny shaming spectrum. I get told I should gain weight because I am too skinny and a twig, looking like a 12 year old boy with boobs and that I won't ever be thought of as sexy. But I am not underweight. I am simply thin. At 5'2 a good weoght is 104-130 and I am 114. So fuck everybody. At least I can run a mile in 7 minutes and 20 seconds without getting wheezy or very tired. At least I make sure I lift my weights and squat... Not that it seems to help much. At least I am makimg sure I consume all the vitamins, protein, carbs, and calcium I need. But ya skinny models have been shamed for looking too skinny and not actually being attractive for photoshoots
Exactly took one step forward and two steps back. The point he was trying to make is that you're not superior and saying that you are only makes you as bad as the obese people gat fat shame you because you're also putting them down.
@Grungenoreos I've been told to gain weight too. I'm pretty sure lots of guys like or even prefer a thin body. I'm definitely one. It sounds like you're very healthy.
@DivaMonae i never once blocked you. I didn't make this mytake in case ur thinking so. I been getting notifs from u and I have no idea what ur talking about. If anything, my insecure ass thinks curvy women are superior. I am trying really hard to get curvy but to no avail
I mean, I agree that skinny shaming is wrong, because making a woman feel bad about her body is wrong. However the rest of this post came off as bragging. It's like... Imagine a woman made a post bragging about having large breasts. It's one thing to say "I'm not ashamed" but it's another thing to rub it in someone's face.
Everyone should take pride in their bodyweight. I encourage others to do the same, just not put down others because they've got something that's different or even more liked.
And yet you are fat shaming in your post. I find models to be very skinny and I have a right to voice my opinion. If some people get butthurt over it thats their problem.
How am I fat shaming? I'm not encouraging anyone to lose weight. I'm not calling out fat people for their choices or anything. I'm simply giving facts and my viewpoint. No insults are present.
I bwlive @TheDevilInside said it best for everything you listed if it doesn't apply to someone else that's basically fat shaming. I mean you said it yourself "skinny/healty" is the idea of beauty well then what the heck is everyone else? And you're making that pretty clear.

Healthy = Beautiful. A basic principle. Fat shaming =hey retards lose weight, you're ugly, etc etc. No fat shaming is present in the take.
Some not skinny people can be healthy too though. I'm not talking about morbidly obese people who have trouble walking, but somewhat heavier people. Also there are skinny people who are not healthy.
I have no idea what you said in Spanish but as long as it matches the rest of your opinion bravo 👏
That woman on the second photo is not skinny. She's good form.

Couldn't agree more just like healthy and skinny people should do the same 👍

Retro: You can be proud of your body without sounding like an entitled brat.
I only sound entitled to you because you're the one lacking in something. And we both know what that is.
Anyways... I don't think you understand my take. That or either you took it the wrong way like most.
@ShaeNielson
Yea call me fat, because that's how you win an argument ;)
I absolutely love this. People honestly don't realize how much shit thin women get for having healthy bodies. My mother has been accused of being a crack head, because according to the sniveling 500lb woman that called her such, "no one looks like that unless they're on drugs."
I just don't understand why being healthy is suddenly unattractive.
I got teased for having cheekbones once...
And people say skinny shaming doesn't exist. Youand your mother stay strong.
It's not and there are people that do understand... But it doesn't seem like there are many people that understand that this issue should be eliminated altogether not swapped out by the other.

No need to call names. 😎 I'm not obsessing over looks, for every action is a reaction.
We don't need to apologize for having beautiful skinny bodies.
Yeap. Fatshamer. Hypocrite. "No need to call names", but then goes on and called me namens. Lol grow up, girl.
@kavyareddy2 who says you have to apologize? Just don't put others that are not like you down, that's all.
I would stop if it weren't for fat feminists trying to take down beautiful skinny bodies from billboards because they're offended.
Well then I'm not gonna apologize for being an attractive girl with meat on my bones. My body type may not be like the one shown on magazines or society's ideal, but I'm comfortable in my own skin. Fuck the media.

Oh, cry me a river. I have yet to meet anyone who has a problem with skinny women. Try being plus sized in this world, honey. See how you like having men jeer at you for being overweight, with the attitude that you are less than human. You will also be jeered at and insulted, as you're viewed as less of a woman for not having curves, ass, and tits. Honestly any woman who is over or underweight is very often bullied and picked on.
I doubt you're actually skinny. Few people are. Not being fat doesn't mean skinny.
And you are kind if apologizing or being defensive anyhow. If yours comfortable great. You don't need to prove it.
The picture is not skinny she's got a healthy amount of flesh she's just noit fat.
I said skinny/thin because people use that term to relatively describe people who aren't fat and overweight.
I honestly don't get it when people who have the majorly favored body type feel so insecure and threatened by the body positivity in the opposite way. I mean, sure, people can be shitty in how they make themselves feel better... but you've got more than enough praise to gas you up for a lifetime girl lol.
Don't get me started on my life story again because it is enough to make you understand why we are so insecure... smh
@helloitsmethere If you are very slim and have less curves, I understand. The original post is showing a magazine cover ideal body.
I actually have a decent amount of curves but I still get a ton of shit for it. Just because the media is showing skinny in a good light doesn't mean it always is.
@helloitsmethere You are lucky!
"I mean, sure, people can be shitty in how they make themselves feel better" kinda like how she just did...

That will never happen. The government pushes unhealthy diets because big agriculture and big pharmacy line the government coffers.

I'm skinny - 80 pounds and 5'0 - and this is a dumb post.
And being able to lift half your weight? Speak for yourself! I can't lift shit.
I didn't say everyone can lift half their bodyweight.
I especially didn't say you could.
Everyone should take pride in their bodyweight. I encourage others to do the same, just not put down others because they've got something that's different or even more liked.
Lol at large breasted women "rubbing them in people's face"
Sounds pretty good to me
And yet you are fat shaming in your post.
