How Sometimes Racism is Only Bad for the Racist

So I went to the gym.

When I was in the changing room there were two guys. Might have been friends. One was in the shower and had just finished. So he wanted to come out and he asked in his language if anyone else was there. The other guy replied something affirming it. I'm not really good in their language yet.

So I can't know what he said exactly; he seemed to be polite to me, though i don't know what he said.

How sometimes racism is only bad for the racist.

I don't want to disclose what country this is but it's a European nation and I'm brown. I don't want to specify, which is why I'm anon. Also generally people here are very nice and polite. There are bad eggs everywhere, after all. So out of respect I'm not disclosing. Back to the subject.

Anyway, the guy in the shower apparently didn't want to come out for some reason. I don't know the exchange between them but I did notice his head looking into the changing room. He then made a sound like he was disgusted or something and retreated. What I understood was this guy was most probably naked (they are often , in the locker room) and he didn't want to come out while I was there. I mean like what is the worst that could happen? I'm gonna look at him? Am I gonna grope him? It's a crowded gym, it's not like something like that can happen. Besides his friend was there as well. I was just changing my clothes minding my own business, getting ready to work out.

So he basically had to stand there for 3-4 minutes till i was done and went out. Now I don't feel i have been discriminated against, ever. I have experienced minute forms of racism here and there. And I really don't give a fuck. And today would have been no different. But this particular case was funny because he was stuck in there till I left. Now i could have taken advantage and stayed there and frustrated him a little more. But then I thought that would just make me equal to him, since I'm just wasting time as well.
