Being white in American has been a privilged position for the past ~600 years.
It's getting better, sure, but saying that minorities aren't disadvantaged from the get-go is ignorant as fuck.
And no, I'm not some self-loathing white-guilt person -- these are just the facts, and I'm not gonna bury my head in the sand and pretend that it's not still a problem.
She's just made because she doesn't qualify for certain scholarships where minorities does.. she commented on another post
It's sad that gentlemen have to preemptively excuse their opinions because it is such a common practice to say they are whipped or stupid or not-real-men in some way when they dare to agree with something considered feminist or supportive of civil rights.
As you point out, there are still problems and that things are better doesn't mean we ignore the ways we still have to improve. Good on you for admitting that in the middle of a community that (based on the comments I'm seeing) will/are savaging you for going against the popular opinion.
I love how everyone is acting like this is a great take. You didn't say anything factual you just ranted and told people they should shut up just because you've never experienced things first hand. This take could've been good even if I disagree with your points, if you had actually written something with facts and statistics. I can agree with a lot of this. Though I am black and white privelage DOES exist. However, I too get sick of us black people crying about shit but acting the way we want to act.
Feminism doesn't agree with a lot of women in this age, although the media tries to make you think they do. To me it's just the insecure woman's complex.

The reality though, is that it does not work, and only taints the efforts of non white people who made it to the top, despite it being their knowledge and skill that got them there. Black privilege doesn't exist; only a person who is white would say that.

Feminism started with a good cause , even if at some point lost its purpose. I am old enough to have some memories of the way my grandmother and her generation were treated , all the young women/entitled princesses of today like youeself have no idea. You are too young and too arrogant and you should educate yourself before write an opinion and you are part of the problem not the solution. I believe white privilege does exist. I've been stopped for no reason, followed around a store, and I have to try my hardest to get people to see me and not the ideas they have about me because of my skin color. My white friends have never had those experiences. Just becsuse you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not there my friend.
As for feminism, I think it's cool. It's just the people who go over board, like anything else, that make it bad.
Love, love, love it. It's impressive and invigorating to hear this from a young woman. There are a few of you out there but not too many. Usually youth is a barrier to common sense, wisdom and truth. The older the average person gets, the more they start to understand sometimes things aren't always what they claim to be, they're either outright lies or at times they mean well but the things they believe actually turn out to harm who they're trying to help. I'd have to disagree.
I do agree with some parts of feminism, even though I'm a man, but I believe that women should be entitled to men's benefits, only if they work just as or harder than them. You can have them, but they're not for free, ladies.
And unfortunately, white privilege does exist. Black college graduates are on the same level as white dropouts in the game of being hired. And there's African American names like Shaniqua, Taliqua, Jacque, Jamal, LeVar, etc., whose resumes get thrown away because of that. And I also noticed that rich African Americans are more likely to be profiled than poor whites.
It's a sad world we live in.

Most of South Africa is really Dutch & racist towards blacks. My ex-gf lived in Canada but her family is from South Africa. How racist they were towards black people was beyond absurd. We loved each other very much, but her families hatred towards me destroyed our relationship. She ended up trying to escape the situation with drugs because she loved me as much as her family. While the drugs she took claimed the person I loved and I fell into a deep depression for 2 years. I'm happily engaged to be married and she still calls me ever once in a blue from blocked numbers. It's very sad how far people go with racism, to the point they destroy their own daughter.

I asked a question similar to your myTake and got screamed at left and right. And when I said, yes I have been harassed by people of color, it didn't matter because I'm white. What we have done to minorities have been very cruel and unjust over the years, but in the areas that I have been, I have only seen everyone thrive in society no matter what color.
I think this was a very pointed, and good mytake. Well done! I think the problem is though, that there is still a wage gap for women and minorities, but I don't think this is due to any overt racism, and I think trying to fix it through legislation does more harm than good. The simple reason the wage gap exists is because it's only been a bit over a generation ago that people in power had to be whit males, otherwise it was basically frowned upon. What we have is sort of a good ol' boy system. If you have two fairly equal individuals, one a white male, and one a black female, who is naturally going to have more in common and get along better with the likely white male manager? Obviously, the white male. This is something companies have now realized though, which is why they are taking steps to find qualified women and minorities and getting them on the ladder to power positions. But his will take time, it certainly won't happen overnight.
I agree on what you said about feminism. It's just a bunch of western women who ran out of things to whine about and ignore the problems of third world countries where it actually is needed.
But... White privilege DOES exist. It may not happen to you, but in general it does happen to other white people. It may be bullshit but it does exist to some degree. Why do only whites claim it doesn't exist.

If those quotes are from the "article" it sounds moe like an opinionated article with maybe one ore two other different races' opinions. Maybe you should look up better statistic-based information that can be physically proven. Some of the things you said I do not agree with at all I am part African American and part Vietnamese and I have some French in the mix as well and I know from a few experiences as well as my father and his family's experiences that some of your statements/comments are BS. Thank You. I'm glad that there are other white people who are finished taking shit from the Social Justice crowd. I'm proud of who I am, and my ancestors, and the Feminazis can't take that away. Racism is dead in the United States (save for the deepest parts of Appalachia, and the South), and people need to forget what someone looks like, and judge them on merit alone.

I think white privilege is small but exists. Black negative is larger. I draw that distinction because there's more of a black between blacks and everyone else than between whites and Asians, for instance.
Male privilege exists in some areas, but female privilege definitely exists to. Within the context of middle class white culture, I think female privilege may exceed white privilege.
So I can understand why black feminists get angry and want white women to shut up about how bad they have it.
