Why Feminism is Bullsh** and "White Privilege" Doesn't Exist

So, straight to the first task at hand.

Feminism is bullshit. I know right? This must be a huge shocker to you guys but it's true. Basically what's going on in America at least is these self labeled Nazi- I mean feminists are proclaiming how society is SOOO anti-woman and SOOO sexist and something has to be done about it.

Lets start with a few questions:

Does being a female legally prevent you from doing anything you want? No? Then shut up.

Is it The problem of the entire society if the occasional asshole treats women as lesser than men? No? Then shut up.

Is the wage gap produced by bad statistics? Yes? Then shut up.

Case closed let's move on.

We're going to tackle white privilege the same way but first what is it?

White privilege is the belief that society is rigged so that minorities are perpetually oppressed, and that white people are incapable of understanding the pain and torment of having extra melanin in their skin.

So let's ask a few more questions shall we?

Does being a minority race legally prevent you from doing anything anyone else can do? no? Then shut up.

Is it the problem of society if the occasional asshole is racist or cruel towards you? No? Then shut up.

Are you able to exclude whites at your leisure in the name of minority empowerment and get away with it? Yes? Then shut up.

Does the level of melanin in your skin make available to you hundreds of scholarship opportunities the rest of us can't get? Yes? Then shut the fuck up.

Do your worst you bitchy little SJW freedom fighters. You disgrace what freedom even means with your shit and you are going to waste your lives thinking the whole world is out to get you.

Realize that all you people are doing is hosing down houses that aren't on fire. You're fighting a war that ended decades ago but that you can't let go of so you have to keep perpetuating the lie that all of society hates you and won't hesitate to roll out the dogs and fire hose the moment you let your guard down. You're angry over the past and you act like its the present but you're not doing anyone any good by trying to keep the wounds as fresh as possible. Although people tend to be quite radical on race and gender social issues, the reality is, there is a very real, tangible divide between the rich and the poor, white people and black people, men and women. it's nothing about perpetually oppressing or a system rigged against. it can be as simple as the idea that, and i've experienced it with white friends of mine where when a black man gets angry it is often seen as him being hot-headed or irrational whereas when a white person gets angry there must be a legitimate reason why they are so... or even something as simple as in many pharmacies in the past they'd have cover-up makeup but that makeup almost always was in tones that would cover up blemishes for white people but not people of color (this is largely changed)... OR in many circumstances a white person may say to a black child "he is so well spoken" but don't say the same to whites inferring that the child is...

here's one i've personally experienced. I was driving with a bunch of friends during spring break in college. we'd been listening to the same meatloaf album for 3 straight days. so finally i just ask, hey can we throw on something else? one of the guys goes, "so what you wanna hear some gangster rap yo?" this is an example where a white guy could've asked the same question i did but wouldn't be the presumption of others wouldn't be the same as when i asked it.

another example... a few months ago a bunch of white people basically took a national park hostage for several weeks. their argument was that the government shouldn't be able to hold public lands and those lands should be put up for sale. valid argument? sure. but what do you think would have happened if it was Muslims who took the park? probably called terrorists right? And if it had been people of color do you think they would've been able to hold the place hostage for several weeks and even kill a park ranger?

but here's a bigger one. it has been proven, and laws have been enacted in places, that often times when a minority family goes looking for homes a realtor will only show them homes in certain areas. often areas with high minority population, often areas that are in lower socioeconomic areas, often areas with high crime rates. even if the family looking for the home is well to do. it has been proven that there have been situations where neighborhoods predominantly white will go to realtors and expressly state that they have standards for who can live in their neighborhood. how is this dangerous? it perpetuates segregation. it is a violation of basic rights to the pursuit of happiness and a free market.

White, male, able bodied, etc. privilege does exist. I think what people get angry about is how these "privileged" people are then vilified as though we have intended it to be this way. Then ofcourse, the government trys to legislate culture, which makes entirely no sense. Everything will run its natural course, there is no need to force it. But yes, being a white male, etc. has its advantages. Mostly the connections it affords you, as most people in power are still white males. However, this is beginning to change, and eventually we can put the debate to rest.

It would be impossible less than 200 years after institutionalized racism to think that we'd live in a perfect world. white privilege isn't gone but is certainly steadily diminishing. the fact that america has a president who is a minority and two candidates for president who are minorities is proof of that fact.

white people shouldn't necessarily feel guilty about white privilege as long as they don't do anything actively to perpetuate it.

So to sum up your argument (which is heavily flawed) the world is equal with no flaws? There isn't any rape or wage gap? Nor people burning down churches because it has an African based population? Of course the world will never be perfectly equal, members of each gender have their own benefits for being part of that gender and same goes for race. But there are still very prominent issues in society regarding racism and sexism. And this "house" you speak of is still on fire, granted it's not nearly as big as it was in the 20th century and earlier but we need to conquer these battles to win the war regardless. For example, a Caucasian who wishes to adopt an Indian child will only be granted to receive a disabled one. The UK still taxes tampons and pads as they are a "luxury" whilst men's razors are not taxed nor considered a luxury. Isn't the prevention of blood running down your leg more important than having facial hair? African girls have to leave school for the lack of feminine hygiene products. Their education prevented because of something that happens to all females (with exception of those with Alexandra's genesis or conditions similar to it). If you call the wage gap poor statistics, answer me this on how there is a direct link between wage difference, single mothers, and children who get their meals from schools. Or that children for a man is a great thing for his paycheck but terrible for a women. Or that males have a significantly higher success rate when applying for colleges than women? Thus leading to worse jobs than that of a male counterpart. Also the current sex-based society we live in (America particularly) gives more support to a female who'll take off her clothes than one who is more of a prude. Along with the multiple shows that are supported by provocatively dressed females. But that's just the tip of the ice berg for sexism. Being a female Indian I know more of feminism than racism as feminism affects me a great deal more than racism.

This article just makes me sad.

To the author: I suspect you are very young and haven't had to experience much life yet or meet a wide range of people or live in various situations so far. I would encourage you to save this article someplace you won't lose it. An actual, paper journal or something that can't be deleted or corrupted that can travel with you. Every 5 years or so, re-read what you've written here and see how you feel about it compared to what you have been through at that point in your life. I promise you... I *promise* you you won't be quite so angry and glib (or at least not angry about the same things) as you are right now. This isn't to say you aren't entitled to your opinion or your current life experiences. You are. Your article, as is, is a product of what you've lived so far. Just try my suggestion, make it a life experiment and see how you change as you live, experience and grow. Maybe when you're 35 or 40 or even 45 you can post an update of this side by side with what you think at that point and what you've learned in between. It would be enlightening for you. It also might help people who, when you are 40 are just hitting ~17 y. o. or so and feel as you do right *now*, to see how they might change, what they might expect to learn as they grow. Maybe give people a means to be more empathetic.

We don't have to always get along, but we can be civil to each other and try to understand each others core complaints and build some bridges.

First off, let me preface this by pointing out that everyone that automatically assumes the OP is a Trump supporter is a bit silly. The wage gap is definitly there, maybe less significant than the media makes it, but it's there; however I'm not arguing about that. Men have two privileges women don't, no periods/pregnancies and a less chance of being raped or sexual assaulted by a stranger (at least what current statistics indicate) but that does t mean there's a "male privlege" because they have their issues as well.

I don't care much for the feminist portion of this take. But I can plainly see white privilege in American society. It is not so much that minorities are not given the opportunity, but rather there is an inherent tendency of whites to favor only whites.

For example, everyone has the OPPORTUNITY to apply for a job. Just apply along with everyone else. But the trend is that whites are preferred over blacks - particularly in high paying jobs, leaving blacks to battle over minimum wage jobs. I've seen this article title several times over the years as the study has been repeated multiple times over the years in different cities and confirmed. It basically suggests blacks need a college/university degree to compete in the job market with white high-school dropouts.

As an Asian man living in Canada, I don't experience the kind of racism to minority as I might if I lived in Detroit, Texas or Mississippi, but I've visited a fair number of American cities and I still see a lot of Asian stereotypes and racist connotations in American advertisements, businesses and even TV shows. @Josht11 a friend of mine who is African American was arrested because police officers said he smelled like marijuana... what they didn't know was he had medical marijuana and it was legal for him to have but they didn't hear him out... instead they arrested him and when they got to the station they found his doctors prescription that he was telling them. On the other hand one of my white friends got stopped for speeding and was caught with marijuana and was just given a warning. If that's not wait privilege then I don't know what is. Marijuana possession is illegal in most states. If you're caught with it, you will be cited. If you don't pay your fine, you will go to jail. And if you're caught with 37 pounds of it, you will go to prison on felony intent to distribute charges. It's all very simple, and it has *nothing* to do with race.

The fact is, black people have many opportunities that white people don't, more race-specific college scholarships and internships than you could count. Try having someone break into your apartment stab you, steal your stuff, you call the cops, and they pick you up because you're a black male. Some people won't give jobs to those of a specific color, some people won't treat someone with respect because of their skin.
